My friend wanted to bring my wife and I here because he thought this place was amazing. Once we arrived we noticed they only had one register. It took 15 minuets to get through 5 people in line.(they seem new so I'll cut them some slack there) Once we saw the prices of the meals our jaws hit the floor. My wife ordered a classic and so did I and because of the cost decided to share a fries. We wanted to get a fountain drink but they only have "hand crafted in house sodas" and other bottled drinks...so no refills in sight. Our meal total for the two of us came to 28 dollars !!!!!! 28 dollars for 2 burgers and a fries and we ended up having water(we saw the size of their artisanal hand crafted sodas and we almost keeled over) ....I asked for pink on my patty and when I finally got it it was more of less completely cooked and pretty dry. For what we paid I expected a monster burger but this thing was smaller than a single patty from In and Out. I've seen hundreds of these places pop up either in Walnut Creek but now we have "The Lot" and I'm still blown away by how overpriced it is. Artisanal, hand crafted burgers....right. let's be real here, it's a burger not a piece of art . Keep your overpriced meat patties. I'll go to in and out or nation's just for the sake of price and guess what...it still taste like a burger. I'll give this place about two years before the hip and cool vibe wears off and your just left with an empty store waiting for the next affluent Bay area resident to have their midlife crisis and start the...

In the last month, I have frequented this location three times with three different people. I always get the buffalo burger but I try different toppings each time. It has always been fantastic. I used to get the sweet potato fries (which are still quite excellent) but I recently tried their regular fries and was shocked to discover that (with ketchup) they are now my favorite french fry that I have ever had. They are crispy on the outside, warm and soothing on the inside and when combined with the cold, sweet, and acidic taste of ketchup, it provides an unbeatable taste.
The burger toppings are always added in the perfect proportion. The meat (no matter what type) is always tasty.
I'm not a big fan of giving five star reviews. I am making an exception here because it is way closer to being a five star restaurant than a four star one. If I were to include two negatives I would say that during my last trip the burgers were not pink as requested and the gluten free bun (per my daughter) wasn't very tasty. I also wish they allowed more than two (or is it three?) sauces for your burger.
No place is perfect so these minor quibbles will not discourage me front visiting this...
Read moreIt was the Fourth of July around 1 PM so I called first to make sure they’re open. The woman who answered said yes, in an unenthusiastic way. So we drove over there, and as we entered and asked if we should just sit anywhere? That’s when we had the opportunity to see the person that matched the drab personality at the front taking our order. So we sit and the food came out in a timely manner and it tasted pretty good. No complaints, except that the sandwiches average about $14 each. The sweet potato fries were excellent, but we made the mistake of using their house brand habanero hot sauce on our food ( more on that later) . Things like the water is self service and if you want ice you can ask for it as I did. One thing that happened after we left for me and my wife was, we spent the entire evening making trips to the restroom. That habanero sauce put an ache in my stomach that you just couldn’t get rid of. I always like jalapeño and whatever hot sauces are offered so I’m accustomed to a little stomach heat. But when you get that hollow ache in your stomach, where you have to reach for some Pepto-Bismo 6 or 7 hours after. Or for my wife, on into the next day, she was still complaining of stomach pain. So, anyhow, my advice is avoid that sauce at the...
