Visited here on Friday around 1:45pm for late lunch. We were seated immediately and we ordered right away. i ordered chicken karaage for appetizer and 2 bowls of hiroshi tonkotsu ramen. This was everything kinda downhill. We had to wait for almost 20 minutes for the ramen. That was after I asked the server because I saw 2 tables who came after us got their food first. The chicken karaage (that was supposed to be an appetizer) came last after I asked another server to check on it. I also had to ask for napkins and water refill. I am disappointed at the service despite the friendliness of the servers. Now the food. I ate at Ramen Hiroshi at Walnut Creek last year and remembered that the ramen was good. Here, I was disappointed at the broth. The broth was flat - lack of umami flavor. However, I still like the firm thin ramen & the sweet chasiu. I had to take out the pickled ginger like last time in Walnut Creek because it tasted weird with the ramen imo. The chicken karaage was good. The skin was crispy but the meat was tender. The portion for the karage was good for the price. Not sure I would come back here in the future but it was a decent bowl of ramen.

As an Japanese Ramen chef, here is my 2 cents: 1. Many people claims the noodle is undercoocked, that is not true. These thin noodles are supposed to be boiled this way. Softer noodles are typically considered as negative in Japan. I think they boiled the noodle in very decent amount of time. 2. People also claims the broth is salty. Here is the problem: when people feel salty, most of the time the problem is not the amount of salt but other reasons. I think their problem is a lack of MSG and salt. Surprised? 1) Pork broth needs significant amount of MSG because Pork does not contains enough Glutamate but instead a lot of Inosinic acid. 2) Because their broth is actually pretty thick, they need to add more salt to taste these Umami flavors. 3. Egg is properly "soft-boiled" compared to "American-ramen-chain-soft-boiled eggs" which I consider them undercooked. 4. Their Pork chashu is too thick IMO, also lack of flavor. Should slice way more thinner for this type of Ramen bowl.

Nice location inside City Center Bishop Ranch. We requested for outside seating and it was setup quickly with a heater. We liked all the appetizers we ordered. Renkon chips hit the right flavors. Deep Fried Gyouza is fried to the apt amount and juicy inside, meat was delicious. Takoyaki was melting in the mouth. Portions were okay. Coming to the Ramen, we were disappointed big time. Except Tantanmen there is no other creamy ramen options. Miso Ramen was just miso broth without any additional flavors, chicken was undercooked, too less broth. We didn’t like Yuzu Vegetarian Ramen even, similar stuff, broth wasn’t flavorful, too less broth for the ramen quantity. There is additional broth option on the menu but not at the cost of giving less than required broth in the ordered ramen. Prices are okay for the setting but there is lot of work needed in Ramen department when compared to most ramen joints in Bay Area.

It's pretty convenient to have a ramen place in the City Center here in San Ramon. I had it once before but didn't really remember how it was so gave it another try recently.

The service was good, I was seated quickly and water was provided. Put my order in and in about 10-15 minutes I got my food.

I ordered the Karage, Hiroshi Ramen, and a Sake.

Originally wanted the Cartilage Karage, but they were sold out, understandable, it was a bit later in the evening around 7pm and it was sold out last time I got there too. The regular karage was quite good though, crispy and juicy.

The Sake was a 180ml serving of Nigori, served with a chilled glass. Pretty good and went well with the Karage.

The Ramen was mediocre. It had a good amount of toppings and healthy amount of thin noodles. The egg was soft-boiled well, maybe a little over ideal and they only provided one half of it, for the price I would expect a whole egg. The disappointing part was the broth though, it was quite lacking in flavor compared to others I've had. I'd expect a place that primarily serves ramen to have this nailed down but it was simply not flavorful and pretty forgettable.

I don't think I'll be coming back here even though the Karage was quite good and service was fast, but if you want non-ramen items, they have a decent amount of dishes and specials on their menu. I would give it a 3.5 star but can't on google, I'll do a 3 since the one thing I expected to be excellent was...

Came here for dinner and we all ordered a bowl of their Hiroshi tonkotsu ramen. I got the straight ramen, while the others got the curly noodles. When the bowl came out it looked good except for the char siu (pork) and that it wasn't piping hot. The pork looked rather old. As I looked closer it looked very dry. When I took a bite it was hard and tasted old and stale. My daughter tried to bite her meat but couldn't because it was too tough and dry.

The broth was flavorful but I wish it was hotter (temperature wise). It was a little warmer than room temperature. My kids didn't even have to blow on their noodles.

Those who got the curly noodles, it had a strong alkaline smell. Luckily my straight noodles were fine and didn't have that smell.

In my husband's video of noodles, he found a plastic wrapper (cling or Saran wrap) in the soup. Told the staff about it and they give him a fresh new bowl. His new bowl was hot! Can see the steam and the pork looked good this time, it was soft and a bit char, and it was soft too!!

Overall it wasn't my best experience...I wouldn't mind giving this place a second chance, perhaps just don't go early/when they just opened for business. Instead, go later in the afternoon or evening. Because the earlier it is you probably get the leftover stuff from...
