I wanted to purchase 2 quarts of pre-packed ice-cream today. I had a gift card for the value of $8.00 when they scanned it, the register voided the gift card value and something went wrong...the guy decided to void the transaction and start over, which deleted the value of the gift card to $0. Now he is saying I have to pay full price because he can't fix it. There is no supervisor, no manager or even owner of this store he can contact since he is new at this job and I was told to waited about 30 minutes to meet with his manager who was supposed to come to the store. At some point I started giving up and just wanted to pay for my order the full price which is crazy because he "stole" the value of my gift card as he voided it in the first place. This guy at the register (Andrew Blare) if that is his real name at all told me he is not going to ring me up until his manager comes. What the hell??? Really, I tought?! I told him if he doesn't ring me up, then he will not ring anyone up, because I am next in line and I am not going to move out of the line until he rings me up. Many clients waited behind me and left the ice-cream store. This guy and another client from the line were talking about calling the police on me, can you believe it? I asked them how is the police going to help them if he is incompetent to run the register by himself...police wont be able to teach him how to do his job! The right thing to do would be to contact someone as supervisor or manager and have them help him do his job!!! After all I am a paying customer and he did acknowledged that with his poor register skills he somehow voided my gift cards' value...intentionally or not it is all his fault. Not my fault so if there is anybody to blame is Andrew and he holded me hostage to wait for 1:35 min to pay for something that I would normally pay in less than 5 minutes tops. It is such a awful place...I will never ever step a foot in here again. Hope you don't too...unless you are ready to wait over an hour for a scoop...
Read moreThe owner of this store recently must be training all the staff to reduce portion size. It didn't used to be this way - I have been going to this store for years. See my photos for the banana split and chocolate milk shake. This chocolate milk shake is so watery that it's literally chocolate milk. No shake. And it's $7.99. I complained to the owner about it (he made it himself) and he said "it's supposed to be one scoop of ice cream". Look at the photo of the scoops for the banana split with the pink spoon next to it. You all know how small that spoon is, right? Each scoop would fit into that spoon. This is just wrong. I've never known an ice cream shop to be greedy. I get ice cream to feel good and this does not feel good at all. Pretty much ruined my day. Don't go here if you are thinking you need something to lift your mood. This is just depressing. At least wait till this owner gets over his sudden spout of inflation panic...
Read moreThis is a nice little store. It's between Uncle Yu's and Fat Maddies giving a perfect desert to two great places to eat. I'd be willing to bed I've been to this 31 more than twice the number of times I've checked in, I'm just so focused on the ice cream that I forget to check in.
Like all BR's they have a good selection of ice cream and a medium selection of toppings with a few tables inside and outside where you can enjoy your desert. This place has more room between the counter than the one in Dublin so you aren't crowded when there are a few people waiting to be helped.
This site is usually clean by BR standards and the staff are great. I don't think I've had a disgruntled person help me out yet. Usually they are cheerful and upbeat.
My son prefers this 31 over the one Dublin because this place still has toppings that go well with sorbets and other places focus more on chocolate and...
