We bought my 1st suit a couple weeks ago from the Murray men's wearhouse for my grandmother in laws funeral. We picked it up yesterday and it was as if their tailor didn't make the required alterations to make it fit properly to me. The funeral is Monday and here it is the Thursday night before. We asked if they could fix it and properly tailor it like we paid for and have it done before Monday and of course they in no way could pull that off. Luckily one of the younger gentlemen working at the Murray store suggested seeing if this sandy location had the ability to tailor it for us. We went to this sandy location and WOW!! Everyone here is amazing. I hate myself for not remembering her name, but the cute young gal that spoke to my wife on the phone was amazing. We walked in and she went right to work getting the jacket pinned so it can be fixed. Not only did they jump right up to help us, they're also able to properly tailor the jacket and trousers in 24hrs!! With a funeral on Monday and a new $700 suit not fitting properly, we were a bit stressed to say the least. Lee and all of the people he has working with him, especially that gal that helped us, are amazing people. They are saving us. Funerals already suck. There's nothing like feeling like everyone is looking at me wearing a sloppy suit when I should be wearing my finest. The sandy men's wearhouse eliminated all of our worries. I won't go anywhere else for my dress clothing needs so neither should anyone reading this. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO LEE AND YOUR ENTIRE CREW!!
Update. I've gotten an opportunity to wear the suit a few times. The alterations that were done were 100% correct. However, i wish to have the jacket and pants lengthened just a touch. My dad passed away this morning so last night we went here to see if they could get them lengthened before his funeral and we got the oddest behavior from the woman that helped us this time. She said there's nothing wrong with the lengths, aside from the fact that it's MY suit and I want it changed MY way so that I fully like the suit. She refused to change my lengths. I'm going to assume that she thought I was one of these customers looking for something for free, but that wasn't the case in the least. I had every intention of paying for it. But I'm not going to go to a tire shop and tell them I want tire A and they tell me no, I have to keep tire B because there's nothing wrong with it. Same with my suit. You're absolutely right, there's nothing wrong with it......but I want to be 100% comfortable in my suit. I am not 100% comfortable in my suit. I feel like I look like a bit of a hipster with the shorter fashion. I personally prefer them to be longer. I want them to fit like my USMC uniforms fit. Anyway, she playfully refused to allow me to pay to have my suit altered to the exact way that I want my suit to fit. She did offer to steam the suit, which was nice. But I don't understand, you're willing to do something to the suit that I didn't ask for and don't care about but you're not going to do the thing to the suit that I want to have done and care about and planned to pay for so that I enjoy the suit?? Kind of odd. So now I'm still in a suit that I don't enjoy wearing because of how it makes me feel, and I'm sure I'm going to be self conscious and uncomfortable on a day that's already crappy. I'm a knuckle dragger so I don't know of many alteration shops. Can anyone recommend a good alteration shop that I can take it to to have it altered to my specification? I really want to take my business to Lee and his team, to pay someone i know and love. This time I was turned away. I know it's not a million dollars worth of business for them but I still prefer to go to the places I...
Read moreI have never listed a review until now. But I have never been so dissatisfied or disappointed in a retailer. It was the worst experience ever. I used to really like Men's warehouse. NOT ANYMORE. I recently purchased 2 suits, paid for the suits and waited a week to have them tailored. First incident was when I picked them up and one pair of pants had one leg way too short. Sales associate tried to talk me into taking the pants as they were, she told me they looked just fine. It was more than obvious, that one leg was shorter than the other. I left the pants for 1 more week to be fixed. When I picked up my pants I was told that any time the pants needed pressing or repair to bring them in at no additional cost and they would take care of them. A few weeks ago I noticed a very small hole on the front of the pant leg. I took them in and asked to have them repaired. First I was told by the manager that it was most likely my fault because of things in my pocket. I never put anything in my suit pants front pocket. It wasn't his responsibility to tell me how the little tear got there in the first place. He acted like he was too busy and that I was stupid. I told him that I just want them fixed and asked him how they would repair them. He said they would put a small patch behind the very small tear and it would like fine. I believed him, stupid me. I picked them up and they looked horrible. The tailor made a square of stitches on the front of the pants in plain sight. The stitches were just random without any attempt to make them look hidden. I don't know anybody who would wear a pair of suit pants with an obvious horrible repair job in plain sight. The sales person that helped me initially acted like it was no big deal. I told her I was upset about it. She asked if I wanted to talk to the manager, I said yes. Again the manager acted like he had other things to take care of. While talking to me he was doing other things. He could of said that he would be right with me as soon as he was done with whatever he was doing. He did not. He asked me, "what do you want me to do?". At that response I realized he could care less. It was apparent that if he was ok with a customer receiving such poor quality work than my time there was over. I have never experienced such horrible customer...
Read moreTLDR; manager made multiple insensitive comments about age and weight; I'd avoid this location if you don't want to be body/age shamed. Wish we'd read the reviews first as several of them mention similar shaming experiences. Also some of the 5 star reviews on here were left by employees (looking at you, Miles!) which seems super dishonest.
I want to preface this review by saying that this store has a great selection of suites and the staff seems knowledgeable.
My husband and I went in a month or so ago to order him a suit for an upcoming wedding and were pleased with the experience, so pleased that we recommended this location to my brother. We went in with him today to give him feedback on a suit for the same event. The manager (pretty sure his name was Doug) helped us this time around and, while he was knowledgeable and gave some good feedback, he was very insensitive with many of his comments. He called my husband and I "mom and dad" several times (not a big deal, whatever) then seemed to pick up on the fact that we weren't talking with my brother like a mom and dad would. He then asked for my husband's age, didn't believe him when he told him, asked MY age and didn't believe me when I told him; apparently we look MUCH older than we actually are. In addition, while trying to help my brother find the right fit he kept making comments about his weight, just little things that were rude like "a guy of your girth" and "I'm surprised your neck measurement was so small, I was not expecting that", etc. Perhaps unintentional but insensitive and rude nonetheless. And it wasn't just one or two comments, it was comment after comment for the entire duration he was helping us.
Someone much smarter than me once told me to only ever comment on things about a person that they can quickly change (shoes, shirt, etc) as anything else would be outside of their control and rude to mention. The staff at this location either need to learn some tactful ways to communicate with customers or need to learn NOT to comment on things outside of their control. We have several more family members needing suits for this upcoming event and we will be telling them to avoid...
