High Level Overview: Terrible Salon experience (Unsanitary and unprofessional), reached out total of six times with no resolution. GO ANYWHERE ELSE, details below
I had a terrible experience using Ulta's Beauty Salon service on October 18, 2024. The stylist was extremely rude and unprofessional, after the cut she repeatedly asked me if I regretted getting the haircut I did. After washing my hair, my towel fell on the floor and she used it to dry my hair. She did not give me even close to the "style" I requested after the cut as she could not get the curling iron to work. (She plugged in the curling iron for less than 20 seconds, it didn't turn on and she decided to use a very large curling iron which was used to straighten instead of curl my hair). The amount of product and hairspray she used in my hair was insane. I was expecting to feel confident about my look after this haircut but I felt absolutely horrible. My husband was also scheduled for a haircut right afterwards. He went to Sports Clips and the experience was night and day. The Sports Clip experience was FAR superior in quality, and customer service to Ulta Beauty. I wish I had gone anywhere else for this haircut but Ulta Beauty. I understand that sometimes things don't work out and I always try to give people a chance to make things right. I after all have had to work with complaints in the past, and realize sometimes things happen. I have reached out to Ulta Beauty a total of six times: 3 via chat (October 18th, October 29th and November 9Th) and 3 times via phone call ( Ocotber 30th, October 31st and November 2nd (November 2nd they called back to Question What actually happened with another promise that they wanted to make it right and would call me back. As of November 9th no call back has happened). I have had better customer experience and follow up with the DMV!!! I will never be purchasing anything from Ulta Beauty again or going into any of their salons. They have lost a customer for life.
Best of luck to anyone who has an issue with ulta!!!

Read moreI should have wrote this review several visits back. The consistency of poor customer service at this location frustrated me enough to finally take the time to put it in writing. This particular location of Ulta employs very rude and dare I say snobby employees. Every time I go to this store I am ignored until I approach an employee with a question and when I do they act like I am putting them out. I asked several different employees on my last visit basic questions like 1) pricing on a Morphe blush product, 2) whether or not they carry MAC brushes, 3) if I could steal a kleenex to wipe tested products off of my hand, or 4) if they had a tester out of the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette. I felt each time that I was interupting their conversations with other employees. They were unfriendly and didn't smile. There was no tester out of the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette so I asked two employees standing together if they could open a package and let me look at the colors. I said I wouldn't touch the colors since it was not a tester. They just looked at each other strangely and said they didn't know. Their expressions made it seem like I was asking something inappropriate or tacky. How am I supposed to know if I want to purchase a product if I can't even see it? I used the restroom while in the store to wash product off of my hands and the restroom smelled strongly of marijuana. The restroom was directly across from an employee office. There was an employee working in office with the door open so I mentioned politely that the restroom smelled strongly of weed. She just said "Oh, OK. Thanks.". I was surprised that she didn't apologize or acknowledge that people are not allowed to smoke weed in the store. That's what I would do if it were my business. I would be embarassed. There were very few customers in the store but several employees so odds are that it was an employee smoking in the restroom. I had money to spend but left without buying anything. Makeup should be fun but my last few trips to this Ulta location were...
Read moreI just have to write a review because I am so so grateful for Karyn at the Southtown location of ulta. I have been in multiple times and if she isn’t there I leave and come back. Not only is she super helpful and always willing to answer any questions, but she has a gift for seeing colors that are invisible to me. She immediately looked at my skin and knew I have warm skin with a lot of pink. A few months ago I was in and she spent so much time helping me to find the perfect concealer for my warm pink skin and taught me the colors of blush to stay away from so the pink won’t come through. Then she taught me how to apply it by showing me on the mirror. Covid has made it difficult to find correct colors but she helps because she can see things I cannot. Today I was lucky enough to find her working because I need a new foundation for family photos because my skin is slightly darker for summer. She had nO problem guiding me to the perfect shade and then taught me how to apply it. She also hooked me up with highlight, contour, and lipstick so I’ll look great for our photos and she spent a LONG time teaching me how to apply it without doing anything directly on my skin. She is very aware of following the rules with Covid restrictions and still finding the perfect match. She told me her work schedule too so I will come in on the days she’s here. I LOVE Karyn! She has a gift and I only wish she could be my personal makeup artist. Ulta is lucky to have her knowledge and skill set. I’ve shopped at Nordstrom, Sephora, and Mac but always have the best experience at ulta with karyn. And she’s an excellent sales person because I usually buy whatever she tells me to but there is a serum by ester lauder that is $105 that I am saving up for. Love you karyn!...
