Puzzle Zoo Toy Store — Local services in Santa Monica

I hate to say this but I don’t think this place will last much longer. I mean it’s less than half of what it used to be. I take my kids and we try to support it but toy selection is not to exciting and the one that are like the legos are totally over priced. I don’t mind paying more since I know the rent at the promenade is huge but come on! I’m not an idiot either. For tourist it may work. But for locals who know target is a block away nahhhhh

Went in today (5 months later) and my daughter bought some funny little plastic pull toy. Looks like a giant expandable straw. She loves it. It was $10 I let her buy it to support them. May go back to get another one tomorrow for my son. I know they’re cheaper other places but I like to support local stores when I am not being ripped off...

The chess set that I bought there was missing a black pawn. Instead of resolving the issue, they asked me to contact the manufacturer. It was unclear to me if the set had already been used or not. It clearly wasn’t sealed completely so it could likely have been a used chest that that was missing a piece that they sold to me. $50 I expected it to be brand new and have all the pieces there. If it was missing a piece, then it would’ve been helpful if the store had gone to the manufacturer for me or taking a return, or just resolve the issue a little bit more elegantly instead of putting it back on me to fix the problem. They were nice about it but did not...

I used to love coming to this place before I had kids. Now they would rather run customers out of the store so they can demo an electric skateboard in between aisles. In a store where you can barely fit down the aisles as it is. Lousy customer service especially if you need to shoo other customers away.

I was genuinely interested in buying something for my son and daughter who was in another area of the store, but when I mentioned I don't necessarily need to buy this. I was told that's my perogative. You know what your right and that's when I set the item down and left the store.
