This is amazing place to come if you have any health issues or just need a "maintenance". Amazing doctor. Mao, Doctor Angela and Doctor Dao are true life savers - for me and several of my friends who has been treated at Tao of Wellness in Santa Monica. I am patient of Doctor Mao since 12 years back, and in last 4 years I am also patient of Doctor Angela Soeon Park. I am familiar with Doctor Dao's work on several of my friends. Doctor Mao has been my primary health care provider in many years when I lived in Los Angeles. With his broad expertise, he successfully treated me for chronical back pain, fibromyalgia. migraines. My real health issues started at the end of 2019 when I moved to Florida. I suffered 14 unexplained anaphylactic shocks in 8 months. I visited over 20 different doctors, several times I ended up at an Urgent Care and Emergency rooms with my face swollen and airways closing. I was "allergic" to everything according to doctors and no one could find the reason, explanation nor the cure to my condition. I have been a patient at The Tao of Wellness for about a year now and even though work has been slim I am still able to continue, because of the tiered rates. The office is bright, clean and has a relaxing vibe. The front desk staff are quite pleasant, helpful, calm and somehow handle themselves in a pleasant manner even when things do get busy and other patients are demanding. I am a patient of Dr. Shannon and am always impressed by her professional demeanor, efficiency and her very strong knowledge of herbs. Mind blowing!! Not only that but she's easy to talk to and up to date with current medical information and issues. She's thorough and able to needle swiftly, with precision and can also use alternate points if some hurt too much. My thumb and wrist joints have started to ache regularly (joys of aging) and the relief I get after acupuncture is incredible and long lasting. The overall feel is of a smooth running, professional and caring atmosphere with people who know how to do their jobs well! If there are any kinks, it never shows to the patient. This clinic is extremely harsh and uncaring. Even if your neighborhood is being evacuated due to a flood, or you are dealing with devastating health news from your MD, these will be counted against you if you reschedule with Tao of Wellness. So if you ever have a more normal emergency, like a computer failure in the middle of a big work or school project, you are SOL because you already used up your excused reschedule. I don't think this is a way to treat patients. Coming from someone who worked in health care for many years, I understand the importance of the Dr. and staff's time, and I also know that you have to care and be understanding about the patients as well.
