Updating this review as of 10/7/24: We have officially received our front door and had it installed beautifully. I have attached a photo down below. I want to thank the NEW manager, Jared coffee and Saul for all of their hard work and professionalism dealing with our issues. Once Home Depot named Mr. Coffee is the new manager he handled our order issues, professionally and quickly. We were able to come to a resolution for all of the burden we encountered due to wait times, manufacture issues, and other concerns. Thank you Home Depot for putting the right people in front of your customers. It made a huge difference and impacted our decision to shop here again for windows on our home.
Updating this review as of 8/16/24: Still no door 4 months later. The Door Dept manager (Mr. Green) is unaccountable with returning information to customers and escalating appropriately- this may just be our situation & circumstance. We were promised a phone call and update whether that meant answers or no answers.. the amount of effort we have put into this is exhausting:
-door damaged & time spent to correct the issue -calling off work for the door to be installed (which never happened because the door was damaged and Home Depot is suppose to check for this when it is received) visiting the store to ‘quality check’ the door in which we found it was not the door we ordered (custom glass panels were on the lateral half of the doors instead of the interior side of the doors) playing phone tag with the manager and waiting for a call we never received -updating these ridiculous reviews to share our experience
Our front door was manufactured wrong. This is not at fault of the person who helped us order the door, but on the vendor. No shame to Saul who is very professional and knowledgeable. When we came in the store to do our quality check he even escalated our concern to the manager right away and was very reassuring. (Exemplary customer service and love for his work).
The issue is that no one did a check to ensure the delivery was accurate, until we had to come in and see it for ourselves. Our door was already delayed due to being damaged and now we have to wait for Home Depot to be the middle man with the vendor to fix/ remake our door. Very frustrating. Also, if you’re wondering the brand of door it was Thermatru.
Original review in May 2024: Where to start! Overall amazing experience with Saul. My husband and I went to buy our front door at Home Depot after a strenuous search for a double front door that would work with our measurements. (We tried Lowe’s, Dixieline and others and got nowhere). When we first met Saul he was polite funny and professional. He definitely knew his stuff and products. He walked us through the doors options and let us customize our front door. He took his time explaining everything from hinges to colors to styles etc. his recommendations were fantastic..
We paid to have a contractor measure our front door which was $40 and it eventually went towards the price of the front door. We went back to Home Depot to order the front door and Saul was not there. When I tell you we walked out and only wanted to come back when he was working I mean it. He’s that good. He makes you feel like your money is well spent by explaining everything to you and ensuring that you understand.. now I feel like a door expert.
We came back. Got the door, and $6,000 later are now waiting for the install. Will update this review once we get the door on our home.
I praise this employee as he not only solved our problem but he definitely is well trained, knowledgeable and deserves to be appropriately recognized. Read moreThis store is full of associates trained to say no. Thankfully I don't mind driving over to the one on Genesee where they are quite a bit more willing to say yes! Let me elaborate. I wanted a part that was not on the shelf and the associate told me that they were out. I pressed further with the customer service desk and they looked it up and showed many in stock. The customer service desk called over to the department and after a while the same associate that said no handed over the item without even an explanation or an apology. This was after I tried to return a water heater following the vendors (rheem) instructions and I brought in the label off of the water heater. All they had to do was call the 800 number and get an RGA but no they refused to do so saying they had to have the water heater. But it doesn’t stop there yet another no when I called and asked them to pick up the water heater when they deliver the new one. No. The reason from the manager, we do deliveries not pickups. I explained that they need the water heater to do the refund but she said that is the customer’s responsibility and I said well if you are already here then why not she said we are not doing pickups just deliveries and nobody does that. I told her I have that happen all the time when I buy a bed and she said we are not Jerome’s. Oh well, I called over to the Genesee store and you know what, the manager took care of it no problem. He, Jesse, was all about yes. He did warn me that I’d have to pay for the pickup and I told him I was perfectly willing to do so. Read moreI give a three star review because the gentleman that helped me looking for my items was very helpful (wish I had got his name). It takes alot for a cashier to make me write my first bad review ever. Being a cashier for three years and in customer service for 15, I know its not easy dealing with the public. Breanne with the glasses checked me out tonight with a rude attitude making me feel very uncomfortable. I walk up to the checkout stand and as soon as we make eye contact she literally burst into uncontrollable laughter. I asked her if she was ok, she ignores my questions and continues to laugh. She whispers to the other cashier next to her that looks embarrassed from her actions. Says to the other cashier as she turning back around "Thats how bad he wants me"..... okayyyy, TMI. Im so confused at this point as to whats going on with her, but whatever right? Asked for a bag for my items, as she hands it to me it drops on the counter and in a very condescending manner tells me to have a good night. Maybe if she didn't ignore my question and continue to laugh, at lest say something or even fake saying have a good night in a kind way, I would of never felt any type of way.
