We arrived on a hot Saturday afternoon and AC was not working. We had a 4month old infant with us, who we worried would overheat, so ,needless to say, we did not sleep well that night. We called the management company many times and it was not fixed until Sunday morning. Management was very apologetic and promised to “make it up to us”. On Sunday night we discovered that our emergency exit door was unlocked and anyone from the outside could come in. It required a key to lock it and only the building manager had the key to this door. The management rep literally said “well, fingers crossed that nobody will come in tonight” very reassuring as they tried to get ahold of one of the building managers. Sunday night nobody slept because the condo wasn’t secured. We called them Monday morning and they assured us it would be taken care of by the end of the day Monday as it’s a security issue. Monday night rolls around and the door is still unlocked - they continue to apologize. Tuesday - the same thing. Emergency Door is unlocked all day and there’s zero communication unless we call - they continue to apologize but nothing is actually done. Wednesday morning - there’s no communication so we call and finally they answer that the door was finally locked Wednesday afternoon. So one day without AC and it took 3 more days to secure the condo. Half of our stay. Now they did offer us a late check out, but in terms of “making it up to us” for all the inconveniences and problems during the stay - it has now been close to a month and even while calling almost every day, I have yet to hear from anyone on the status of refunding a few nights. I call and the reps profusely apologize and say somebody will reach out to me the same day.. and radio silence. If I was the owner of this beautiful condo and knew that it was left irresponsibly unsecured, not just as a safety issue for renters but as a liability for the property in general - I would be livid to find it took 3 days and a very persistent renter just to secure it. Not sure if they will even care about this poor review, but thought anyone else considering renting should be aware of this lack of communication if there are any issues...
Read moreRun as fast as you can away from this place! I have stayed in tons of Airbnbs and had good or great experiences at all over the years. I have never left a negative review. This is my first and I don’t say it lightly. I have also never recieved a bad review and am a mom traveling with her husband and young kids.
This host is blaming us for leak that occurred with their AC unit. We had no idea of it as there was no leak in our unit, only into the unit below. They sent out maintenance people, a plumber, and finally someone who works on HVAC to fix the problem. It was inconvenient but we cooperated with all of this and let them inside when we were not there, etc. Then they accused us of tampering with their AC unit and causing the leak and told us we would need to pay for repairs to both condos. We responded that we have no idea how to tamper with an AC unit and had no reason to even touch it or look at it. Now they have opened a case with Airbnb trying to get us to pay for this. We will not be paying anything as we did not do anything but reside in the unit. Hardly even touching the thermostat. It’s very inconvenient to have to respond to this Airbnb case now even after we are home.
I will also mention that our washing machine was broken and they ignored our requests to have someone fix it for the entirety of our stay.
This is not a place you want to take a chance staying at. Do not stay at the gulf and bay club or use gulf coast...

We have been coming to Siesta Key for 20 years to Gulf and Bay Bayside...had a great refund policy and were a pleasure to rent through...new management company, new pricing, no refund policy, no service...RENTERS BEWARE Follow up to the owners response: 80% price increase is not smart business and its greedy...you are well above market rates...everyone who has rented there for years are leaving...as well, your 24 hour refund policy is just plain dumb...Canadians make up a huge portion of tourism in Florida...your insurance leaves out Canadians...again, not a smart decision Whether the guests before us complained about the mattress that is not our problem. I called, left a message...no one returned the call...I called back and spoke with someone who said comfort is subjective, however we will have someone contact me the following day...no one called...recheck your logs...
