Kirkland's Home — Local services in Sarasota

We are brand new to the area, have a new home to furnish, and had never heard of Kirkland's before. A neighbor recommended, so off we went, not expecting much as we understood Kirkland's to be a bargain hunter's game.

What we found instead was a treasure trove of tasteful home accessories, priced far below what would seem possible. A bit like HomeGoods, but seemingly with better bargains and a different style throughout. Terrific for wall decor, lamps and mirrors; you are bound to stumble upon something perfect for that nook or cranny you have yet to decorate, and the price will make you drop everything and get that nook or that cranny done once and for all.

Definitely worth a visit, and as I understand their inventory is always changing, perhaps additional visits every now and then.

Stopped into this location and I noticed a middle age male sales associate watching me and my kids as we shopped around. My 7-year-old sat on a couch and put a Halloween throw blanket around him. As soon as I stepped out of his view, the male sales associate snatched it off him and reprimanded him. I asked if theres an issue with him touching a blanket and the sales associate said “it’s merchandise someone might want to buy.” I take issue with someone assuming I wasn’t going to purchase something l, snatching something from my kid and speaking to my child instead of me. It was uncomfortable and left me wondering if we were treated differently because we are darker-skinned than the other shoppers. I put back the items in my cart and left. Sales sales sales..whenever I shop at this Kirkland's the sales are always great. Unfortunately, at this visit I was nearly mowed down by an employee who nearly climbed over other customers to great me when I came thru the door. She screams " can I help you" I jumped. She would not allow me to roam the store without her explaining all the sales items. My husband finally got into the store and no one greeted or gave him a running commentary.
