On 10/26, I visited this Saratoga Springs Walgreens location to receive vaccines. When I arrived the location, I waited in line to be seen. To my surprise, not one of the pharamacy employees greeted me nor explained to me that they would attend to me at some point. I stood in line with no one in front or the back of me for three minutes without being acknowledged. At white woman going through the drive thru was helped before me, although, I had been waiting long before she was there.
So, I approached the counter without being prompted to come up and asked why I hadn't been acknowledged and served. The pharmacist then pretended to act like he did not who was responsible for making sure I was helped. As I approached the counter and asked the pharmacist about the wait, a white man approached the line and was immediately greeted and helped. Consequently, I informed the staff there that I would not be recieving my vaccines there and that I would contact store management/corporate to escalate this issue. I was given the the store manager's contact information, to which I contacted her as I was sitting in the parking lot. I demanded that this issue be raised up the chain of command given the disappointing, disrespectful, and humilating experience I encountered while visiting this location.
The store manager was "apologetic" for the matter and informed that she would look into what occurred at the location. She reviewed the footage and called me back following the incident. While the store manager acknowledged that I was not helped at all by the pharmacy employees, she made several excuses for their poor behavior/customer service stating that the employees "were busy". Unfortunately, the store manager was dismissive of my experience by stating "I truly do not believe that this is a racist incident", reducing the incident to employees being "busy" and seeking to justify it by mentioning that there was man of color who was working at the counter at the time. The store manager's response lacked sensitivity and maturity to the fact that I experienced and witness white people recieve help BEFORE me. Further, the store manager does not have experience with dealing with racism, so how would she know?
The reviews here consistently report that there is a serious problem with customer service at this location. Does Walgreens not care? Secondly, do employees at this location recieve training to navigate issues of race and racism? I am sure their Black CEO would not appreciate knowing that employees (especially non-people of color) are dismissive of patrons experiences of racism. Consequently, I will NOT patronize this...
Read moreI would like to bring to your attention an incident I witnessed today, 3/2/24, between 130pm and 2pm, at the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 1410 N Redwood Rd, Saratoga Springs, UT 84045. While visiting the pharmacy, I observed an unsettling interaction between what I believe is a team lead or manager, Carrie, and a younger employee.
During the pharmacy's lunchtime closure, the young employee kindly offered assistance in locating my lost prescriptions (after Carrie was yelling at employees and customers about the lunch closing time like she was a Drill Sergeant in the military).
Instead of acknowledging this young employees kind effort, Carrie responded with aggression, raising her voice and creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for both the young employee and myself. In fact, the young employee appeared visibly intimidated by Carrie's behavior and was holding back tears. It is evident that such an environment of fear and apprehension is detrimental to the morale and well-being of the employees.
Upon attempting to intervene and address the situation with Carrie, I was met with further hostility, as she raised her voice at me and exhibited dismissive behavior towards my concerns (raised her arms at me and shouted “you just don’t know- she doesn’t listen!”). Her actions towards me as a customer were extremely inappropriate.
I even reported this hostility to the Pharmacist on staff (Blue hoodie, black hair pulled back in a hair tie), and she told me “we have a strict closing time for lunch” and “don’t worry about it.” Firstly, when I witness injustice, I will, in fact, worry about it. Secondly, I couldn’t care less about a strict closing time, don’t yell at your employees. Be kind.
It is disheartening to witness such unprofessional conduct, especially from a managerial figure who should be exemplifying leadership and fostering a supportive work environment. Carrie's lack of empathy and inability to manage / lead her team with kindness and professionalism is concerning and warrants immediate attention. I urge the Pharmacy Manager / Store manager (who is hopefully not Carrie) to investigate this matter thoroughly. It is crucial for the well-being of both employees and customers that such incidents are addressed promptly to uphold the standards of professionalism and respect within your establishment.
I hope that Walgreens will take the necessary steps to address this issue and ensure a positive and respectful workplace environment at Walgreens Pharmacy. Moving forward, I will not be continuing as a customer to this...
Read moreReally bad service on way too frequent a basis. This pharmacy is a 5 min drive from me so I have tried using them this year as my go-to location for prescriptions. After a year of giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'm done.
First thing you'll notice at this location is you can expect to wait 30+ minutes to get to the window (or counter if inside). On more than one occasion I waited an hour just to get to someone to give me my prepaid prescription "ready for pick up". Not just during typical peak times, but also at times you'd expect things to be less crazy. So, terrible wait times. Could be due to shortage in staff or just lack of training, or both.
Because I can empathize with being short staffed, I still persisted in going for months, hoping for the best each time.
What ultimately is the deal breaker for me is how terrible the service is.
It's like they do everything possible to avoid or put off helping you.
They have told me on numerous occasions that my prescription isn't on file and then tell me to call my doctor's office --even in cases where I literally had just called my doctor's office already and verified that they should have the prescription on file, this walgreens still acts like it isn't there and nothing they can do. Only after escalating "suddenly" it appears. Or on other occasions, they have sent me on a wild goose chase to verify with my doctor 2X that the prescription was sent, and only when a nurse from my doctors office called them did they suddenly see the prescription but then told the nurse that they are actually just out of stock and that's why they can't fill it--Wasting hours of back and forth calling between them and doctors office when they could have told me they were out of stock in the first place.
I can deal with someone being forthwright and saying they are slammed and can't help me. What I can't deal with are the runarounds and lack of transparency that wastes hours of my time. I'll be driving an extra 20 minutes to a different more reliable pharmacy moving forward.
I genuinely wish this location the best as they are clearly struggling to figure out how to run the place. For the sake of the community I hope they...
