I recently visited Kneaders in Saratoga Springs, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. We arrived at 7 PM and asked about the soups available, only to be told, “Oh, they are all cold.” When I asked why, the employee explained they were getting ready to close. I then asked what time they closed, and he said 10 PM. Three hours early to put soups away? That makes no sense. Even if this was standard procedure, it should never have been shared with customers in such a dismissive way. The correct response would have been to simply heat up the soup and serve what we ordered, without excuses. Thankfully, after some back-and-forth and consulting with another team member (perhaps a manager), they did agree to heat the soup, but the initial attitude left a bad impression. This experience highlighted a concerning lack of customer service. It felt like the employee didn’t care about the customer experience and assumed we’d just accept it. Customer service is a cornerstone of any successful business, and this encounter showed how far it can fall short. Hopefully, Kneaders can work on training their staff to prioritize the customer experience and resolve issues more professionally in the future.

Kneaders is a great little breakfast place. They have a variety of things to choose from. I had the French toast which is all you can eat, but honestly after the two pieces it comes with, you are pretty stuffed. It was a fair amount of sugar on that for early morning, so be cautious of that if you order it. We went on a Saturday morning and it got really busy around 9:00 am so watch out for that. I would not say it is the greatest set up for large family gatherings (we saw a couple of them try and squeeze in) but works great for parties of four or six. They had great employees (we had Jay and Abbey help us) that were friendly and prompt at bringing us our food and answered all our questions! Overall a fun little place for breakfast or lunch. Oh they have a huge variety of fresh baked goods as well. Honestly you could stop in for even a quick treat!

POSITIVES: the staff here are pretty friendly. The ambiance is quite inviting with its cozy, homey feel. Some of their food here tastes amazing. For instance, the Mexican Omelet had such an amazing flavor from the pico de gallo combined with the crema. The all-you-can-eat French toast that they served is pretty large. NEGATIVES: they are pretty slow, but you gotta kind of expect that these days, what with the pandemic and all. The price seemed decent for what you get. I wasn't too impressed with their toast, a basic wheat bread that lacked oomph and flavor. PRICE: about $8-12 per person. VERDICT: I would come here again if my work brought me, because I'm interested in trying some other options. But for the price, it wasn't quite as impressive as I hoped, so I'm not dying to go back.

For a Girls Night Out my daughter suggested going to Kneaders before we attended a school’s play. I thought it was a great idea since I had three gift cards. We met there at 5:50 on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy at all. I asked the cashier about a type of bread. She didn’t know the answer. My daughter wanted the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich. No bacon or avocado. She decided then to have chicken salad sandwich. No chicken salad. Settled on just the turkey. Since I had gift cards, we decided to splurge a little and get the combo meals. There were four of us I was paying for. Cashier couldn’t get two of the gift cards to work. Said they had updated the system and wouldn’t accept two of the cards. WHAT???? (One had just over $40 on it. The other $7). We sat and waited, and waited, and waited. I talked to another lady that had just ordered a container of soup. It had been 40 minutes so far. While waiting I watched a lady wait for about 5 minutes just to get waited on for a water cup, two people waiting to pick up call-in orders that were sitting there, but no one would help them. There was a girl doing drive through orders working continuously and very busy. Other kids kinda standing around. Finally got our order except missing the turkey sandwich. After waiting a few minutes and realizing we were going to miss the play, I went to the counter and told them and they had a sandwich sitting there and asked if it was mine, which it was. I had just a minute to take a bite of my sandwich (which was good, my daughter said the turkey sandwich was yucky without the avocado). The worker gave me four containers so we could take our food with us to eat after the play. It was a disaster, but glad the play started a little late. No adult supervision or maybe they just need more training. Won’t go back to that Kneaders. Hoping another Kneaders can get my $47 in gift...

I just had the worst experience here. I pulled into the drive thru at 8:55 to order 2 smoothies and before I could order I was told that since they were going to be closing in 5 minutes that the sandwich station was already closed and I couldn’t order any sandwiches. Now was an owner of a service business, even though I wasn’t going to order a sandwich it bothered me to think that if I had an employee denying a potential sale in an effort to close down shop early so they could get home faster I would be ticked! But I shook that one off. Then after ordering I ended up waiting in the drive thru for over 20 min! As I waited I decided to look up the stores google reviews to see if this was a common occurrence. Sure enough, over 41 bad reviews about the terrible drive thru service! So then after I get my smoothies I decided to offer a bit of advice after I had seen several employees standing around on their phone and trying to hurry and close the store instead of working on orders. I told the window worker (younger looking girl with black hair) that they shouldn’t be putting so much effort into closing the store and ought to put all hands on deck to finish out orders because it took way too long and they were going to have a lot of unhappy customers. She then proceeded to tell me in an upset voice that the car in front of me ordered $60 worth of food. I then started to explain that it shouldn’t matter and that they should put a priority on taking care of the customers first. And before I could finish my sentence she slammed the window on me and walked away. Unbelievable!!! If she worked for me, I would have her hidden as far from my customers as possible! Then the car behind me proceeded to give up on his order and drove right past the window in pure frustration. Something needs to be done with this store and it’s drive...

I am editing this previously written review from a 5 star to a 1 star.

Today I placed a simple order online via the Kneaders app. I get to the store and they have no record of my order. Despite me having a receipt and an order number. My credit card was charged. All we wanted was a soup bread bowl and a simple sandwich. Nothing else.

So the cashier hand writes down my order and I go and wait while they make it. I waited a good 20 minutes before I started to get concerned. I am seeing lots of orders come and go. Behind the counter I can see my order with the others being ignored. 30 minutes in I walk up and try to get her to notice me. When I do I tell her it's been 30 minutes and I'm still waiting. Without even turning her head to see what the state of the order is she just brushes me off with a "It will be out shortly" and goes back to taking orders.

At 45 minutes since having my order entered I am still waiting and I can see no one has even glanced at my order paper. It's like since it was hand written no one even acknowledged it.

50 minutes in, I stand next to the counter and stop a guy as he goes by and tell him I have been wating and have to point at my order that's still just hanging there. He apologized and 5 minutes later they call my name and I leave quickly because I am late. At home we check the bag and of course it's wrong. The sandwich was wrong and the bread bowl is not even there. Just the soup.

Needless to say I wasted an hour due to the app not working, incompetence of the staff and lack of management. All of that for what is what I would call average food.

Never...
