Price gouging much? I'm really shocked. I need 4 CR123 batteries for a security camera. The Batteries+ employee informs me that, "Yes! We have them, and they are on sale!" Oh, good. Well, the sale price is $23.99 for two Duracell 123 batteries. That comes out to about $50. with tax for 4 batteries. So, basically, in this case they are playing people for stupid and are doing price gouging. Please see photo.
Checking online, you can buy these batteries any number of places for 12 Duracell Lithium batteries for about the price that Batteries+ is charging for 2. Doing the math, I can buy them online for about $3. each shipped. That's the high side for a group of 12 + including $10. shipping. Batteries+ is charging about $12. per battery, that is 4x as much.
A couple other points, I finally bought my batteries today in-person from Target and paid total $18.35 for 4 Energizer Lithium 123 batteries vs about $50. from Batteries+ for 4 batteries. Yes, I am not too happy about that, about their "on sale" price. How insulting is that?
Additionally, I have before bought 123 batteries from Batteries+ and the counter worker told me that their house-brand batteries were premium quality and as good or similar to Duracell, so I bought a box of them. In use, they failed in 1/2 the time of Duracell. They did not last long, were in the junk-league. So the employee is either misinformed or has no trouble lying to get my money and to sell me sub-quality "Batteries+" junk.
Plus1 for Target and thank you Target for having in-stock, competent worker, and a reasonable price.
Look at the photo. Is that shocking or what? The nerve of some people, open up a retail store and play people for stupid. Thank you Google Reviews that this can see the light of day and not be a mousetrap for someone else thinking "Batteries+" is their go-to, like getting groceries at the grocery...
Read moreDo you enjoy surly employees that can't do basic diagnostics? Do you want to pay $50-160+ for obviously shoddy work? Come on down to location #124, where the employees treat you like a pimple found on a butt, if they pay attention to you at all. Wait in suspense as the last sentence you spoke is parsed as slowly as possible then responded to in a way that makes it clear the employee didn't understand the question and is now just babbling about something completely unrelated!
I got an employee that had the demeanor of a car radio thief out on work release who wouldn't urinate on me if I was on fire. He proudly informed me that a basic screen replacement didn't work and as I asked technical questions about what diagnostics he had performed, it was obvious he was flustered since he didn't expect me to know details and it was clear he hadn't tested the unit before installation to determine if the replace was good or not. Then had the audacity to offer to uninstall (for another $50) the lcd after he had clearly damaged during the install. The new digitizer now has a crack and a bubble because he didn't know what he was doing and forced it, breaking the lcd. Then he tried to act as if the part was defective, which I doubt as I visually inspected it beforehand.
I'm never dealing with these clowns again. You're better off taking your business to Feather Computers across the street. That guy won't charge you an arm and a leg and he's an adult man with 30+ years experience, not some petulant 20 year old who's just going to break your stuff.
Up yours Batteries Plus, all the...
Read moreThis store refused to honor the nationwide warranty Batteries Plus offers on its power sports batteries.
When questioned about this, the gentleman (Alex) stated that the franchisees go by their own rules and he wasn’t willing to even attempt to look up my information because I didn’t have a printed receipt and bought the battery in question at another location.
Some of this information seemed to directly conflict with what two other stores told me. Also, every single store I called besides this one was able to easily access my information with only a phone number. They also told me that it didn’t matter which store I chose to warranty the battery at because Batteries Plus offers a nationwide warranty regardless of where an item was purchased.
I came to this store because it is convenient to where I live. The store I bought it from was in Conyers and isn’t even open anymore according to Google.
All of this was told to me after I was able to get another store (where I didn’t buy from either) to easily access my info and invoice for my battery. I simply called and they emailed it to me. I’m not sure why he even asked for it. After I presented it to him he said he wasn’t going to help me.
Aside from being unhelpful in every way, Alex wasn’t really listening to me from the minute I attempted to ask for help. He was was unfriendly and unwelcoming. His attitude and vibe conveyed to me that I was bothering him by being there.
My advice is to take your business elsewhere if you care about any kind of support...
