I would give 0 stars if I could. Absolute WORST customer service experience I have ever had anywhere, ever, as a customer. This was my first, and definitely the last/only time I will ever go! On Wednesday, September 9th, 2020, at around 1:15 PM I walked to Ken's Market (Queen Anne), with my ESA (dog) to get something to drink. I was approached by an employee (female) who informed me that they had a strict no pet policy. I let her know that he is a registered service animal, and another employee (male) quickly chimed in to ask what service he provided for me. I informed the workers that he was an emotional support animal and the male employee scoffed. I pulled out his ADA registration card to offer validation. The male employee continued to press me about the card asking if it was registered within Washington State. As clearly seen on his card, yes, he is registered within Washington State (our residence), however, the law does not require service animals to be registered, so this information is irrelevant and unnecessary for him to ask. Meanwhile, during this whole confrontation, my dog sits silently and perfectly well-mannered on the ground next to me. After showing the workers my dog's registration card, the female employee showed the intention to drop the situation to let us continue browsing the drink aisle, yet still, the male employee continued to firmly and rudely say that it was within his rights to ask us to leave the store if my dog was bothering anyone. This was completely unnecessary as he was not bothering anyone, and regardless of his behavior, there weren't any other customers within our vicinity. After the male employee threatened that he could ask us to leave, I simply said that I didn't think his manager would like to hear about this interaction, to which he quickly replied that he was the owner of the store. Upon hearing this, I replied that I had no interest in supporting his business and left the store. I strongly believe this was an act of discrimination, as I do not look physically disabled and my dog is a pomeranian, which is outside people's standard of a service animal. There are absolutely no size or breed restrictions when it comes to service/support animals, and my mental handicap caused by extreme anxiety should not be taken less seriously than a physical handicap. I take my support dog to work and to every other store I shop at daily and have never been confronted by an employee in this manner. I have filed a discrimination report with the U.S Department of Justice and hope they reach out to educate you on all of your mistakes very soon before you traumatize and terrorize another person just...

These prices are for convenience and an immaculate store -- if you and your spouse each pulled down $500k a year (total comp, not base), sure, your kids would get their dinners here when you were too busy to cook, and you would stop by to pick up a bottle of wine in between visits to Met Market or PCC.
[I saw some tweens of Queen Anne buying little meals for themselves here: as someone who grew up in a USA middle middle class immigrant family and then went to an Ivy, THESE are the kids who did not think that the campus food was absolute usury!]
The deli is a fascinating assortment of local-ish brands of packaged foods, and I thought the fruit wasn't priced too...
Read moreThis is pretty much the perfect neighborhood grocery store. I find it hard to believe how much variety they manage to fit into a relatively small space. The staff are invariably delightful and efficient (they call for extra checkers when there's a line of 1!) And they stock fresh, high quality produce, often organic and/or local. They make it easy to eat fresh, healthy meals at home, whether you're a cook or use their prepared foods. A...
