What a gem! Three friends and I were looking for a spot to quench our thirst within walking distance of where we ended up in Queen Anne, an entirely unfamiliar neighborhood for all of us. At first we were skeptical as we turned the corner to find no lively strip of bustling bars, but a lonely plot occupied by a closed hardware store and one bustling bar. But I'm so glad we strode in that I've made a mental note to plan my next move to be within five blocks of Five Corners Hardware. Tasteful, design-minded but not pretentious, business casual-appropriate but hipster-friendly, with ultra-comfortable lighting and excellent acoustics--they had sound panels to absorb the chatter. Although dark and noisy bars stress me out, I also had reservations about the almost family-friendly mood lighting in this establishment as it's often connoted with stale, dead vibes. Suffice to say, the vibes were effervescent and dare I say, perfect! What's more, I enjoyed my Spaceman drink till the very last drop, and my boyfriend's toasted-sesame-infused bourbon drink stole the show. Pure flavor. Peering towards the bar, I could sense the true passion for mixology that made this all possible. We also remarked that the music choice--the blend of bpms and vocal/instrumental--really kept the energy flowing. With experimental jazz and non-cliche chillhop at the forefront, the selection felt custom-curated for Bar Miriam. Thanks for a cozy yet...

We loved our experience at Bar Miriam! My husband and I came by just after it opened (4pm) on Sunday with the intention of having a light dinner and it did not disappoint. We each ordered a drink (Bolivian rose and Electric relaxation) and both were reasonably strong but well-balanced - exactly what you would hope for at a cocktail bar.

For food, we ordered the Asian pears to start, which are wrapped in beef fat and lightly charred. They were a little unusual but delicious in the vein of prosciutto wrapped melon. We also ordered the Kentucky fried soft shell crab which conveniently came with two sliders and the pork collar. The pork collar was the real standout, sitting on an assortment of wild mushrooms, scallions, and garlic labneh. We will definitely return for this dish specifically.

Wonderful service by Colin and Dan, they really made our Sunday. Glad to have this new spot...

This is a fantastic business. Five starts to all of the staff running this place, they really know how to cultivate memorable experiences. I've been here twice and am really looking forward to whenever is next!

The first time they had a cocktail menu referencing Sandlot, and the drinks were perfectly themed and created. I really felt like I was sharing a drink with Wendy. And that lobster roll! We had a really wonderful conversation with our bartender about Terry Pratchett novels too.

When we went back, we sampled just about everything on the menu, but it was the paella that really stuck with me. It really felt like authentic paella that you'd get in Spain. The rice and caramelization, it was perfect. The drinks were interesting and wonderful as well. Oh, and the bartender remembered us!

Seriously can't wait to go back. This place is a treat. Bring your favorite...

I marvel that a tiny afterthought of a kitchen no larger than a ship's galley can produce such beautiful and tasty food. The highlight were the stuffed peppers with creamy goat cheese, a wonderful pineapple hot sauce that packed just the right amount of heat, and an olive tapenade that balanced the whole dish nicely. The fried cauliflower was perfectly cooked and served very hot, but I was expecting more spice - I suggest asking for extra blackberry hot sauce. The chorizo panzanella with peaches, arugula and fennel was a refreshing combination; the chorizo was an unusually hard and dense sausage so it came off as more of a garnish than the basis of the dish, but it worked. The "low alcohol" cocktail "Excellent Guidance" had wonderfully complex flavors with no single flavor note dominating so that each flavor complimented the other.
