Rude employees, fly infestation at main entrance, poor food
I’ve been here a few times and overall it’s been the same as the experience this week. Walked in for breakfast, as I was entering the store there was a huge flock of flies at the main entrance. In lieu of closing the door to keep the flies out, they decided to put a fan blowing up and leave the doors wide open — which is a bad decision given the kitchen is open air right at the entrance. Anyways, in my morning hunger I still went it.
I went up to the register and ask about what they offer for breakfast, got a “blank” look from the cashier, followed by rolling eyes, followed by pointing to the sky. I stood there dumbfounded. Isn’t a place supposed to be friendly to customers, especially a local spot? Nah, just don’t say a word and point to the sky... anyways after I while I realized she was pointing to a partially covered breakfast menu. OK
I ordered a bagel egg sandwich and the lights continued to appear off from the employee. She put her hand out without saying the price, whatever I’m hungry—- so I paid. she proceeds to make the sandwich in the open air with the flies still around. Ugh.
I get my sandwich, no napkin, no bag, no “here’s your order”, just the blazing hot sandwich shoved in my hands. After navigating the flea infestation, I escaped with a slightly burned hand and poor experience.
I am not looking for a “bright eyed” super happy employee, I just want some semblance of respect as a customer and not to be looked down upon for asking what they offer for breakfast. if you are a local shop, the least you can do is to be respectful of your customers. I have a feeling my demographic caused this, but not making any assumptions.
Anyways, this seems to be a family run joint (even sadder this happens at this type of place)— so they probably won’t do anything about this or change their ways. They got a mini monopoly of groceries to my apartment building as well. Still I’ll just always walk down the street to Specialty’s or up the hill to 206 Burger for a sandwich...
Read moreI work and live across the street and have been here 100 times purchasing hot food or a cold drink, yet every single time I walk into the store they stare at me like a shoplifter. Never once have any of them ever smiled, said hello or thank you. They are all flat out rude every time.I only stop in because its a quick option to grab something on a break. Their food is mediocre and WAY over priced. I just got 2 small hashbrowns and 4 sausge links and it was almost $6. The cashier literally grabbed the debit pad from me and pushed the buttons through the purchase prompts, one of which is a tip option. They immediately throw you your receipt away (I get reimbursed from work) and have asked MANY times for the receipt. This is litetally he worst deli Ive ever been to. If your looking for better service, better sandwiches and better prices, I recommend Han's a block or two away on 8th and Seneca. Its a much better store...
Read moreFirst off I have Epilepsy and chronic lung disease so this year has been insanely hard for me to get much done out and about or go very far so I rely on my local stores on first hill. I have been having a lot of seizures lately so I had to bring my service dog with me( I have tried not to as much as possible this year because he is a bulldog and has some breathing issues already) but as soon as I got in the store the angry little cashier that has barely been working there 6 months tells me I don't have a service dog and refused to serve me. I will be following up to report this business for discrimination but I strongly recommend you do not show them support. They have also not been following proper covid procedures with food safety in their self...
