That look girls get on their face when they close their eyes and go āmmmmā ;_; is how I feel about this spot. Good enough to live in the U-district or CID but found in the culinary sparse desert of First Hill. Iāve had their chicken karaage bowl, korean bbq bowl, stir-fried bulgogi udon, and bop tree special breakfast sandwich. The only one I didnāt like and would not order again is the stir-fried udon because it had way too much sauce and too salty. But both of the bowls are fantastic, especially the chicken karaage. Every ingredient (glass noodles, salad, purple rice, kimchi, Mac salad, corn, chicken) just tastes divine and is a large portion size. However, the special breakfast sandwich is HANDS DOWN the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had in my lifeābacon, fluffy scrambled egg, ham and cheese with some special sauce stacked neatly between two thick slices of brioche HOLY CRAP. Whoever decided to use brioche is a textural master. Itās such a big sandwich too, I couldnāt even finish it even though I was super hungry. Their pastries are also great, I lol bc Iāve never had their coffee but I bet itās solid too. I wish I made more money so I could eat here every day. Pretty sure they get all their bread from Macrina, btw. I love this spot, so grateful I donāt have to choose the cafeteria at work all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat little place with a huge variety of food. Not only do they have a variety of breakfast sandwiches and coffees, they also have an extensive lunch menu featuring classics like turkey sandwiches, but also Korean bowls like bulgogi and BBQ beef, which is really what drew me in in the first place. They have a cold drink case that includes the Ito En green tea (a favorite of mine), kombucha, and all the regular drinks you'd want to find at an American cafe. There is a pastry case with blueberry scones, chocolate chip cookies, bagels, etc...as well as a great selection of grab and of grab and go items if you are in a hurry like premade basic sandwiches, yogurts, fruit cups, granola, hard boiled eggs, string cheese, and salads.
They have a seasonal drink menu and also offer online ordering which was simple and easy to do. You can schedule a pickup time if you need it for a certain time or are limited in your lunch break.
The staff were friendly and kind. Would absolutely go back to try more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThanks to a jacked rotator and a shoulder injury that refuses to quit, I've become way too familiar with the polyclinic hospital this year. It's not exactly where I imagined spending my time, but there's one saving grace: this little eatery on the first floor that makes the trip almost worth it.
Their spicy Spam musubi and vanilla latte? Absolute perfection. The musubi is hands down the best I've had outside of Hawaii--it's like a warm, delicious hug from my childhood. Honestly, I've never been tempted to order anything else. When you find something this good, why complicate your life? But I have to admit, the rest of the menu does look pretty fantastic. Maybe one day I'll be adventurous... but probably not.
The space may be small, but it's always buzzing with good energy and the people that work here are awesome. If you're stuck making a polyclinic doctor's office run, this is the kind of place that makes the detour...
