Dr McAdam’s skill, kindness and decision making exceeded my expectations of excellence. I came to him in about 2018 with a torn tendon in my left shoulder. He told me that I may be able to do physical therapy rather than surgery. I did the PT and he was right! It has been about 6 yrs now, and my left shoulder is still working great! Recently, I returned because my right shoulder was giving me grief. I knew and know that Dr. McAdam is completely trustworthy and very knowledgeable. This time I needed surgery. He reattached my Supraspinatus tendon, took care of an impingement, and performed a tenotomy on the tendon connecting the long head of my bicep. He gave me lots of information written, verbal, and even a flash drive including a video of my arthroscopic surgery. As I watched the video, I was able to better understand what took place and why. To say that I am grateful is an understatement. He has a very strong understanding of shoulders and giftedness to produce the absolute best possible outcome. It is no surprise that he has been listed in the Seattle Magazine as one of the top doctors, and was a surgeon who the Seahawks turned to when they needed help. I feel honored to have been given the privilege of being his patient. Some people fly away to other places for good surgeon. Here in Seattle, we are blessed to already have the best right here. His name...
Read moreNeither good nor bad just disappointed. After a knee replacement followed by a knee manipulation the pain and swelling was out of control. Kept being told this was normal. I begged for x rays and lab work to ensure no infection or fracture. Then after being informed that we need to go in and do another surgery, lysis of adhesions, I became very concerned as no x rays were still taken. Got a second opinion and just as I kept saying my leg was fractured after the knee manipulation! I had been walking on this being told to continue physical therapy, all the while telling the PA and Dr McAdams, "I think there is something really wrong it feels like its in the bone," and getting the response, "This is normal and we need to wean you off pain medications!" with no attempt to complete a basic work up. I now must go into surgery for a total revision with a new surgeon to fix the fracture. I just want to encourage those who feel something is wrong and you are not being heard seek another opinion. Do not let this happen to you or a loved one. Apologies are great but the lack of not doing the basics still has me anxiety ridden going into another surgery...
Read moreDr. McAdam was one of the best providers I’ve seen, and I unfortunately have an extensive history with orthopedic providers. He ended up referring me to one of his colleagues, whom he believes will be better suited to addressing my surgical needs.
He is most definitely an approachable person. He seems more interested in making sure that folks get the best care possible (rather than being the stereotypical surgeon, who suffers from the belief that they’re the only one who can perform all sorts of surgery).
Also, I greatly appreciated his kind consideration of my emotional response to my situation (confirmation of the need for a joint replacement). As a former hospital worker, who has seen many doctors personally and professionally, I would highly recommend him based on his level of...
