PerfectionistāThat would be the first word that I would use to describe Dr. Grenley. And, Iām so thankful for that. He performed an abdominoplasty with a fascia repair and a breast augmentation on me about 6 weeks apart based on his recommendation. Iām 52 yearās old and Iāve been wanting to do this for 10 years, but was afraid of having an āelectiveā surgery with such young children. Both surgeries went very well. Professionalāthatās the second word that I would use to describe Dr. Grenley. Oh my gosh, so professional. He doesnāt rush in consultations or examinations or surgery. He explains everything slowly and thoroughly in terms that a non-medical person can understand. He can read minds too, it seems⦠Caringāhe really made me feel like I was his only patient and he was there to get me to where I wanted to be (as long as it was reasonable and safe). He didnāt hesitate to let me know if I was heading in the wrong direction for my body size/type. He was very realistic and polite about everything. Looking back, I was pretty ignorant about the process. I just knew that I had to go to Dr. Grenley based on recommendations from a good friend and an R.N. Thankfully, I listened to them. Describing wanting a āflat stomachā was easy compared to describing what I wanted my new breasts to look like. I felt so pressured to do a good job describing what I wanted (but I feared that I hadnātāeven up until getting on the operating table). But, you know what? He listened, understood and most importantly delivered EXACTLY what I wanted! Iām not sure another doctor would have done that good of a job listening or operating and giving me what I wanted. I couldnāt be happier with my results; I wanted a better body, but one for a 52 year old, not a 20 year old. Having said that, I donāt think I look like I have a 52 year old body; modestly, Iād say I have a 30 year old looking body! Dr. Grenleyās office and surgical staff is more like a family than anything else; at least, thatās how I felt I was treated. They are as professional, kind and caring as the doctor. They understand the process from beginning to end and the emotionsāanxiety, fear, excitement (and more excitement). They can answer any question that you throw at them; and boy, did I ask a lot (thanks Leslie for all of your answers)! Itās only been a few months and Iām thrilled with my results, even though they say that theyāll get even better. I canāt even imagine that! In closing, words cannot adequately express my deep, deep appreciation for all that Dr. Grenley has given me back. I feel confident again and most importantly, I feel comfortable in my bodyābecause itās what it used to look like (which is exactly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI thought I was aging relatively well, but after passing the 60 year mark, I started noticing wrinkles and loose skin in my neck. This became even more noticeable after losing 20 pounds. The thin skin of the neck is the first body part to show evidence of aging. I decided to pursue a neck lift and looked online to find information about plastic/cosmetic surgery practices in Seattle.
I looked at a variety of websites and reviewed the credentials of several surgeons. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. David Santos, because I was particularly impressed with his CV - his academic and educational background.
During the consultation, I explained my concerns, saying that I did not want a neck that looked like Mitch McConnellās (the worst neck I could think of). Dr. Santos explained that doing a necklift without a facelift would not give me the result I wanted - he recommended both. He focused on my concerns and gave the impression that he had plenty of time to answer questions and explain everything. It was not a high pressure sales scenario - it was a low pressure explanation of what he had to offer and how to proceed if/when I wanted to. He was open about how many times heās performed the procedure and showed several before and after pics. I decided to schedule the neck lift and facelift with him.
Before the surgery, I got instructions about everything - incision care, nutritional instructions, activity level guidelines, clothing advice - the pre-op patient education was thorough.
When I woke up from the operation, the neck wrinkles were gone. My face took more time to heal, but within a few weeks it had a rejuvenated appearance. People who see me daily comment that I look 10 to 15 years younger. (I was open with the people in my life about this - I didnāt see a reason to try to keep it secret.) Anyway, the change is obvious.
In terms of pricing, I paid one fee that included everything - the anesthesia, the surgical facility, and the follow up visits. Considering the services I received, Dr. Santosā level of expertise, and the cost of living in Seattle, I thought it was an excellent value for the price. Dr. Santos has performed around 5,000 facelifts - this is exponentially more than most other face lift surgeons. He is a master of surgical technique with a wealth of experience, has great ābedside manner,ā and comes across as compassionate and caring. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've used this practice for several years but due to a change in their consent policy, I walked out without treatment on my last appointment today. They require a consent form to be signed that is multiple pages long- and is the same one that is used for surgical treatment- even if you're coming in for a facial.
I actually read it and couldn't sign it with several provisions that were unnecessarily including things which didn't apply to me. They wanted me to grant them my written permission to 1) use OFF LABEL non-FDA approved materials, 2) provide anesthetics if they thought it was necessary, change the procedure to a different procedure at any time, and I had to sign BEFORE I saw the provider confirming that I had received and understood all of the pre and post op instruction- (and I wasn't having surgery, nor did I receive anything to read!). They also wanted me to sign a waiver for anesthetics stating that I could be injured or die... AND I WASN'T PERMITTED to opt out of getting anesthetics if they deemed it necessary.
Obviously this was a standard surgical form for surgery- which I wasn't having. Therefore, I couldn't consent to these items and didn't initial these boxes on the ipad that was provided to sign. I explained this to two of their staff, and they told me that "those things don''t apply to you". My point was that I can't agree to them if they don't apply to me, so I can't initial those sections. They would not proceed with the work unless I legally agreed to allow them to give me anesthetics or change the procedure at their discretion.
They wouldn't allow me to proceed without my giving written authorization for everything, so, I left without treatment. They are a good practice with nice people, however, someone needs to make TWO consent forms, one for surgical procedures and another for other treatment, such as mine. Who would ever sign a legal document granting someone permission to do something...
