I visited the Buddhist Center in Seattle of the SokaGakkai International for the first time yesterday. What attracts me to Nichiren Buddhism and this organization and people are their openness, genuine intentions, and positive energy. It's rare in today's world to meet a group of people that want nothing more than everyone to just find genuinely happiness. They show how the teachings in Buddhism can be a tool in our lives to cultivate healthy relationships, and help us fortify our resolve to be able to endure and withstand whatever challenge or test that lays in our path. This is not just a religion in the Western sense of how one may think of religion, but a practical guide to becoming a better person and building a better world we all can benefit from.
