With all the positive reviews. I don't understand what happened. The cake's ingredient list is packed with artificial additives, preservatives, and processed ingredients that make it far from wholesome. Some of the most concerning elements include: Partially Hydrogenated Oils (Soybean, Cottonseed, Palm Kernel Oil) – These are sources of trans fats, which are linked to heart disease. Artificial Strawberry Flavor Bits – Instead of real strawberries, this includes corn syrup, artificial flavors, and Red 40, a synthetic dye that has been associated with hyperactivity in children and potential health risks. Sodium Aluminum Phosphate – A controversial ingredient used in baking powders that may contribute to excessive aluminum intake. TBHQ (Tertiary Butylhydroquinone) – A chemical preservative linked to possible negative effects on health when consumed in high amounts. Artificial Flavors & Colorants (Red 40, Beta Carotene, Artificial Strawberry Flavor) – These mimic real food ingredients but are chemically derived, reducing the nutritional value of the product. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) – A highly processed sweetener that has been connected to metabolic disorders and increased risk of obesity. I was excited to try this treat, but after reading the ingredient list, I couldn’t be more disappointed. Instead of using real, natural ingredients, this product is loaded with artificial flavors, preservatives, and synthetic colorants. Why use "Artificial Strawberry Flavor Bits" when real fruit exists? Why pack it with Red 40, TBHQ, and hydrogenated oils when healthier alternatives are available? The amount of high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and chemical emulsifiers is staggering. It feels like this was manufactured in a lab rather than a bakery. The overuse of aluminum-based leaveners and petroleum-derived additives makes this a product I would not recommend to anyone looking for quality food. If you care about what you put in your body, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a treat that actually contains real, natural ingredients. This is a science experiment masquerading as dessert, and I won’t be buying it again.

I won’t ever stop saying wonderful things about this place. I’ve had about 4-5 cakes made there now for a bunch of different events including my grandma’s birthday, my friend’s baby shower and even one as a ā€œthank youā€ cake for my dog’s oncologist after she passed. Recently, I ordered yet another one for grandma’s 87th. Unfortunately, something happened with the order and I showed up and no cake had been made :( I knew this was unlike them so I wasn’t completely upset but I was panicking, as we had a lot of guests coming and even some family from Canada in town, all expecting a nice birthday cake for our old lady. As I left, one of the wonderful staff, who I’ve interacted with a handful of times IMMEDIATELY texted me apologizing and within a few hours, we received our cake! All the way on the other side of town, right to our doorstep. The amazing and super sweet Pua went above and beyond for us that day and our family was so grateful šŸŽ‚šŸ’šŸŒ¼šŸ‘µšŸ½ Affordable. Efficient. Easily Approachable, DELICIOUS and truly do CARE about their customers. I’ll forever be loyal to this little cake shop as long as it stands šŸ’œ Mahalo Cakes of Paradise šŸ’œ

This is hands-down the best bakery I've ever visited! I never tried Hawaiian-style pastries or cakes before, but we came here once for my husband's dad's birthday, and they made the most delicious guava cake for him. So when it came time for our wedding, we reached out and had a lovely 2-tier cake made, with both guava and mango layers. The flavors they offer are so unique, and the guests loved it. I kid you not, the leftovers didn't even last 24 hours past the wedding, and we ordered so much extra. They use a whipped frosting that's super light, so it's not too overwhelming, despite the richness of some tropical fruits. The cake is the perfect texture and the flavor is so delightful. Literally, my mouth is watering thinking back on it... might need to order a cake for no reason lol. Anyway, can't say enough good things about this place! Support a lovely family and local small business--this is a really unique place and deserves all the attention it can get!

Usually satisfied with their service and product, and with the ongoing pandemic I’m more understanding about wait times, low product availability and such. But I’m really sad that they haven’t gotten back to me on whether or not my order is confirmed or not. I even called and left a message, but no one has responded back. All I needed to know was whether I was able to have a cake ordered. If not, that’s fine but NO ONE has communicated with me whatsoever. I put my order in advanced before they had cut it off and I didn’t receive an email or anything, so I don’t know if it’s even confirmed. I completely understand that they’re short staffed at the moment, but it’s just disappointing to not know what’s going on with your own order. Otherwise, this place is usually good and the desserts are amazing.

EDIT AUG. 7th, 2020: Thank you for replying! We actually for some reason did not receive a spam mail. We checked both the normal inbox and spam inbox constantly the past several days, and your emails usually go to the normal inbox when we order from your business. I know what you’re saying isn’t excuses and like I said, I completely understand the long wait times or if the cake wasn’t going to be made, but because the order was supposed to be for today and I didn’t know anything, I was just sad that from my perspective I didn’t get any word for you folks. This review was from the night before the pickup date and I didn’t know if I needed to have to pickup a last minute cake from somewhere else or if we were to do that, we wasted your ingredients for not picking up the order. It was a limbo and I just didn’t want you to lose profit if the order was confirmed (which now I know it is).

You guys are amazing for all the delicious desserts you push through into making even during this pandemic. Get more rest, be safe, and I’m sorry about...

I live an hour away, and have been there twice within the past 6 months. First time I went there, very soured with the young tall darker gentleman working the counter. No welcome, no smile, seemed extremely irritated, no ā€œthank you for comingā€. I had to say hi, and tell him what I wanted, cuz he barely acknowledged me. He didn’t offer to answer any questions, as I was a bit overwhelmed with which cakes i wanted, cuz everything looked so good. First experience tasting the cakes….delicious. I let it go, thinking he may have been having a bad day. Went again today, hoping for a better experience. And just left extremely disappointed again, dealing with the same employee. Same experience as last time. I really want to love this shop, but it’s extremely difficult to even want to give my business there, if I don’t get decent service. I walk in, excited for cakes….but the rudeness of this employee and lack of service is a huge turn off. I don’t even want to refer people to go there, unless I tell them to not have high expectations. A simple ā€œthank youā€ would be nice as I’m leaving, rather than just giving me my change with a blank look on his face. As a business owner myself, I would not want someone to represent my...
