Tripalink Seattle has a recurring pattern of unfair deposit deductions.
I rented from Tripalink at Sophie Studios and moved out in September 2025. My experience confirmed what many other tenants have warned about — Tripalink consistently delays deposit refunds and makes excessive, unjustified deductions.
Despite cleaning my unit thoroughly before move-out, they charged me $125 for “professional cleaning” and nearly $90 for a minor wall “touch-up.” They also refused to provide legitimate receipts or post-repair photos, which violates Washington’s landlord-tenant law (RCW 59.18.280).
After speaking with a former tenant of my unit, I learned that Tripalink had deducted hundreds of dollars for the exact same “damages” years earlier, even though those issues clearly existed before I moved in. This shows a repeated and troubling pattern of overcharging tenants and withholding deposits without transparency.
I have attached photos showing my unit on the day I moved out and the “wall damage” they claimed needed repair. From a normal distance, you can barely see any marks. Their refusal to provide proof of actual payments for these repairs gives me reasonable grounds to suspect that the invoices might be fabricated.
For tenants whose rights have already been violated, I strongly encourage you not to stay silent. Don’t tolerate Tripalink’s unreasonable and repeated behavior — protect your rights and stand up for yourself. I almost gave up fighting for mine, but their conduct and attitude should not be tolerated.
If you’re considering renting from Tripalink, document everything from day one — photos, videos, and every email — because you’ll likely need proof to defend your rights. Tripalink’s deposit practices are neither fair nor...
Read moreHad a very strange contact with what appears to be their property management Company in which a woman (Christine?) refused to give me their income requirements and never even said if they have them or not. Instead she would talk about Credit Rating and Amount you should have in Savings! Whaaaaat? Never heard of that! So I don't know what her "End Game" was. It was almost like she assumed I wouldn't qualify and therefore was trying to.... discourage me??? I insisted in getting income requirements from her and she just would not budge, at the end she just stopped replying! I don't know what's going on with Rental Industry but this is worrisome. And btw if that's how they "dealt" with me just inquiring, makes one wonder how they do the tenants. PLS NOTE = After Companies see these reviews they tend to wanna "cover" themselves with a Lotta.. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH ...but we're all familiar with it..it's called LIP SERVICE for others to see how "Great" they are! If I were not accurate about what I said and they want to claim transparency, then what better proof then to provide income requirements in Reply Right HERE for us to see! And next time do it right from the start, that way you don't have to try to Twist it...
Read moreTerrible and lazy management and especially the maintenance. Took over 2-3 months from first day of moving in to take a look at noisy fridge, dangerous light switch, and never fixed faucet water temperature. The facet water would always fluctuate from cold to warm to scalding hot! Maintenance had an excuse and always blamed it on increased water demand of the building (keep in mind the building was only built couple years ago too and there is this water temperature problem already). The size of the washer and dryer are crazy tiny and cost you more loads at $3 each and will add up quickly. No compensation given until the day you give notice to leave. Also this building does not have an elevator and has 5 floors! Find another place with similar rent and an elevator. Parking is a pain and time limited. Nearby frat houses are littered with trash and super dirty. Was never informed that you could use the other amenities at the other buildings like the cardio bikes. Will charge you ~$90 for cleaning even though...
