This place truly is incredible.
When I first found Sumo near university heights they had just opened and offered many buy one get one free or 50% off options.
(Definitely took advantage of it at the time)
They had spent time operating normally without such a deal after it ended I found myself eating their less while still missing their cooks incredible flavor.
Walking by one day I noticed a sign saying they had become an all you can eat establishment.
No F$^@%@^cking way.
I love all you can eat places and living locally I always attempt to find one.
Their system does take a moment to understand but once you do your jaw hits the floor.
Once you place your first order a 90 minute timer begins. You can start with 15 items and then 15 minutes later you can place another order of 15 items.
Starting off ordering 15 items (being able to select each meat to medium rare to well done when applicable) while also being informed if something contained raw meat was a plus.
As a thing to say I came when it was 'Dinnertime' and it was a holiday.
20$ for lunchtime and 30 for Dinnertime.
For lunch price their is a slight restriction on some premium meats but even during lunchtime you can upgrade to Dinnertime prices if you want some specific items.
They also offer take out or you can pay by the pound once you hit your timelimit.
You could consider it 'punishment' if you order more then you can handle.
Or you can use it to make sure you can have treats for your dogs!
Understanding item weight is important though (the staff made sure to mention as I like the chicken and fried rice from the past it's not a good value proposition weight wise)
I appreciate that honesty and heads up.
The food is delicious, my partner and I enjoyed the experience very much.
They have an 'open bar' of well cooked food they rotate every 4 hours.
(Kids eat cheaper)
They take the time to clean the tables with...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. THEY WILL SEND YOU YOUR MEAL 1 1/2 HOURS LATER COLD AND UNSAFE TO EAT. WILL NOT GIVE REFUND AND DUE TO DOORDASH POLICIES DOORDASH WILL ALSO NOT REFUND BECAUSE SUMO “ DOES THEIR OWN DELIVERIES” I ordered in DoorDash an hour and a half ago and after waiting 50-55 minutes I called since the order hadn’t made its way out for delivery. I called the restaurant and the girl told me they were waiting for a dasher to pick up my meal which had been ready. This place is small and not busy they made it within the first 15-20 minutes. She told me they were going to contact their delivery guy and hung up. After a while more I called back and asked for an update. A man answered and told me the driver was on the way with my order. Another 20 minutes pass and I called again because I’m literally 5 blocks away. The girl answers and said they called their driver but he wasn’t answering. I wait another 10 minutes and call again and ask if my food can be remade for when the delivery guy picks it up it will be fresh. I’m told yes but I finally after an hour and a half receive my food from, not THEIR driver nor a DoorDash delivery guy, but an Uber eats guy. It’s the same cold food that had been made an hour and a half ago. I ordered the teriyaki bento box which mind you had half a portion of salmon in it. Cold stale everything. And rice grows mold on it very quickly if not kept at proper temps so it’s completely inedible. I ordered a sprite and received some mystery yellow Sumo drink which I refuse to drink because I don’t know what’s in it. And my tuna lover roll was also stale cold and at an unsafe temperature. It has now been two hours of me having ordered and still haven’t been able to eat due to this whole complaint and reviews. THANKS...

Let me start by saying this place bribes customers for good reviews—offering a free soda in exchange for a five-star Yelp rating. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about the credibility of their glowing reviews. Take them with a huge grain of salt.
Now, onto the food. Calling it average would be generous. The deep-fried rolls? Stuffed to the brim with extra rice and seaweed, clearly designed to fill you up as fast as possible so you can’t order enough to actually get your money’s worth. The buffet items might sound appealing, but in reality, they’re dry, stale, and taste like they’ve been sitting out all day. If you’re expecting fresh sushi, prepare to be sorely disappointed.
The service? Nonexistent. I can usually be understanding if one or two employees are inattentive, but here, it was every single staff member. Worse yet, it seemed like none of them spoke enough English to even correct a basic order mistake. When they forgot two of our rolls, I tried to politely explain, but they just stared blankly, making it impossible to resolve.
To top it all off, they brought out rolls without so much as a word—no explanation of what they were, just plopping them down and walking away. The whole experience felt weirdly impersonal, almost eerie, like we were eating in some kind of soulless sushi factory rather than a restaurant.
If you want my advice: stay far, far away. The so-called “deal” isn’t worth it, and you will absolutely NOT get your money’s worth, even with their cheap lunch rates. Save your time, your money, and...
