Kara is the best there is and always makes me feel like a VIP when I go to see her. What truly sets her apart is that she takes a really custom approach to styling my hair. I have always felt really challenged with my hair - it's very fine, unruly and thinning, making it difficult to style, but somehow with the help of Kara I love it now. Kara spends a lot of time learning about her clients lifestyle and hair and customizes the styling and after care to ensure it looks great every day. I always leave feeling better about myself. Going to see her is such an amazing experience.

The Colour Distillery itself is the cutest salon in Seattle! The decor feels like a new twist on a classic salon and there are so many thoughtful touches that make going here feel special. Sometimes salons can either feel a little sleepy or way too busy, but somehow this place has been able to blend the relaxing atmosphere of a spa with the same uplifting and empowering feeling you get getting ready for a big night with your girlfriends. Love this salon so much!! I have been seeing Kara for almost 5(?)+ years and I've loved my hair each time I have walked out. So when she started Colour Distillery I 1000% followed. She always listens to me, talks me through her ideas, and helps me when I have questions. Whenever I go the conversations are amazing, the other stylists are so fun to be around, and the vibes are 10/10. Again, she makes my hair look AMAZING each time and I swear I see her cut it each time but it always the same length - in a good way! Idk how she does it but she is magic! I had the best experience with Marcelle at The Color Distillery Hair Lounge! During the consultation, we identified exactly what I wanted which gave me a lot of confidence & reassurance going into the appointment. During the appointment she was incredibly detail oriented and clearly took her time to ensure the best result. I felt so taken care of! When we were done, I was so happy with the results, and now after a few weeks I can say that it's my favorite highlight I've ever had!!
