Had an extremely pleasant experience with Patricia, she lead my learn to knit group class. Wonderful, special, and kind woman. The store is OK, decent variety of yarns and resources.
Despite having a great experience with Patricia and the class, Jean Johnson, the owner has completely ruined my overall experience with the shop and I will no longer return to support her business. It pains me to say that, because Patricia, as mentioned is amazing, however the cons outweigh themselves when Jean is in the store. As a beginner I was in the store asking questions and learning from Patricia as I continued on my knitting journey when Jean made a rude comment to "hurry up with the sale". There were other small comments such as this, in which were in distaste, especially when aimed at a customer newly joining the community. Jean even mentioned that she "couldn't say that she'd seen me in the store before", despite being there for a 3 week class and browsing in the show a few times before that. No sooner had she begun, another lady, perhaps the owner, asked her if she couldn't find something more important to do. I felt really insulted. I work in this neighborhood and spend a lot of money on yarn and supplies, but I will not shop here again after feeling humiliated. It's too bad, too. The worker seemed nice and they have nice stuff. There was nobody else in the store. I'm not going to give money to an establishment that treated me like a second -...
Read moreI love this neighborhood yarn store. The owner and her employee/partner are both extremely knowledgeable and always pleasant and helpful when you walk in. I have knitted a few projects that I have had trouble with along the way, and they always treat me as though they are delighted to help. The owner is a prolific knitter and I get a lot of my ideas from the knits she is either wearing or that are on display in the store. Further, they carry a great selection of yarns for every pocketbook, including a large selection of colors and and weights in the gorgeous Madeline Tosh line.
Give this delightful little local store your business. I did, and 3 sweaters and several smallelprojects later I am...
