West 206 — Local services in Seattle

The corporation that bought this 1950s place has done a nice job prettying it up. Unfortunately, they've also raised rents and extras (parking, trash & recycling pickup, extra for animals) every year since they bought it and are doing it again this year. Rents are now equivalent with new buildings that are going up in West Seattle, but this building is not on the same level as the new ones. It's not a bad place and the on-site manager does a good job taking care of things in a timely manner but it's still a pretty'd up old building with high rental rates. The new property manager (Maingate Management) is waaaaaay better than the property manager when I first moved in (Redside). Ryan is such a reasonable dude that actually cares about his tenants and the maintenance guy, Farid, takes time to help his tenants about any issue small or big. Good and affordable place at admiral way. Awesome neighborhood, good neighbors, good management and quick maintenance crew.
