Laura is an exceptional improv teacher. Her classes are fun, insightful, inspiring, and did I forget to mention FUN!? Laura teaches from her deep treasure trove of improv experience, and also from a place in her heart that exudes her unmistakable authentic love for the art of improv and performance. As long as Laura is teaching, I will be attending. Improv has brought so much richness to my life. Not only does it provide me with new tools, techniques, and experience to be a better performer on stage, but it brings me confidence and courage outside of class as well- To be more outgoing, more observant, more playful, more present. If you’re thinking about taking an improv class, give Laura a jingle, and Zipline it into the next session! The group is super supportive, and if you’re worried about being new to improv or performance, no worries, we’re all new here! No one’s a pro- just a bunch of kooky characters from all walks of life, learning the art of improv, having a great...
Read moreI am currently in my third or fourth round of 6-week classes with Zipline Improv, and it's all I ever think about or talk about! I feel so lucky to be taking a class with a kind, professional, level-headed top-notch Bay Area Theater Sports teacher. Laura doesn't just set up a series of games for us to play, as in past classes I've taken. She builds upon the fundamentals and really teaches us the ins and outs of improv - I am being challenged while also having the best time of my life. Laura is also wonderful with folks who tend to be a bit more shy and quiet, as she has admitted to being a shy and quiet person herself in the past. It's been lovely to witness all of us coming out of our shells and reach new levels of communication and connection in this way. I consider all of my fellow students (and Laura!) friends, and I am grateful for this time we...
Read moreWhat a great class! I wish I had signed up years ago but I was too chicken! Laura is an exceptional teacher. She creates a very safe and comfortable container to learn Improv. Laura is an introvert and she brings an extraordinary amount of empathy to teaching because of this. Even though I am an extrovert, I can see how being an introvert can be an asset to Improv instead of a deficit which is something I never thought of before. After my 6 week class, I noticed areas of my life in which I had previously felt nerves when being in front of a group had shifted due to the exercises we had done in Laura's class. That was an unexpected benefit I was excited to receive. If you are on the fence...DO IT! You...
