Great selection for a small outfitter; unique men’s and women’s hats and comfy, uncommon footwear from reputable brands. Beautiful sweaters and Pendleton goods are abundant. I’m certain there would be more positive things to say; however, we had just walked to the back of the store when a women entered the store asking the clerk if she was ready. She then proceeded to rudely demand if we were buying or just looking around. At that point, my husband and I mentioned we were just looking since it was very obvious it was time for us to leave. The clerk had been welcoming and wonderful to us when we had entered a few moments before, but now looked very uncomfortable. Poor thing.
The woman who had entered stated we could return tomorrow between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. As much as I would have enjoyed returning to purchase items my husband and I had our eye on as well as see what other items we could purchase for family souvenirs, we will not return. It would be understandable if either the early closing hours were posted (the sign said the establishment closed at 6:00 p.m. and it was 3:58 p.m. when we walked in) or if the woman had been at all polite. Hope your experience here will be better than our first and only experience at this establishment. Not to worry, the silver lining was that we had a laugh about it later—first time we were asked to leave anywhere for us. Lol!
Other than that, parking is plentiful. The clerk greeted us immediately upon entering and there are nice things in the store from the half of the store we were permitted to see. Good luck if you choose to visit. Call ahead for the actual hours before you go, or you may be asked if you’re going to buy anything after two minutes in the store before being told the store is closing. Three stars off for the...

We brought our family in for waterproof gear for a day on the water. 2 adults... 6 kids (teenagers)... No problem!
The staff is extremely helpful and courteous, and the owner is very charming and more than happy to share the history of this landmark clothing store.
If you're looking for a trendy boutique that sells hip fashions and caramel lattes in the corner, this isn't the place. If you want quality, rugged clothing designed to be worn in Alaska, then look no further.
Thanks again for a wonderful experience. It certainly made our Alaska trip much more...
