Food Lion — Local services in Shallotte

I live in Texas, and was headed to Holden Beach to a rental house for my Mom's 80th birthday.

We were saying in a house with eight extended family members, with 20 cousins nearby.

From the time that I called the Food Lion in Holden beach, until the time that we picked up the cake and cupcakes, the service was nothing short of courteous, knowledgeable, impeccable and friendly!

My husband and daughter had similar wonderful experience picking up the cake and cupcakes on a Sunday. A very sweet Employee even got my daughter pushpins from the backroom that we needed to hang decorations because there are no pushpins on the shelves to purchase.

I am sad that I do not remember the names of everyone I spoke with. But the cake decorator, Klarissa, went out of her way to be sure she was decorating the cake in the best manner possible!!

And finally, the cake was the moistest and most delicious thing we've ever had. We so often spend too much money buying Cakes from fancy bakeries that come dry with not enough filling and subpar frosting. I am eating every bit of this cake until it is gone!

The cake and the cupcakes arranged to form a wine glass were a huge hit of the party. not of done it without you!

Employees are very friendly! They are sticklers for you showing your id but what place isn't nowadays? Only a few employees know how to properly bag...so if you like your milk double bagged or your cheese separated from your fruits and vegetables I'd honestly use self checkout before going to a register. Unless you specify what you want bagged and how - don't count on an employee to properly do the job...would definitely recommend to management that the baggers go through a retraining course. If you're buying alcohol at self checkout and have more than one person with you, all of you are going to get carded so come prepared unless the other members of your party walk away or go back to your vehicle and even then - you have to be sure the self checkout employee doesn't see your large group, otherwise they'll require id for all of you or...
