Sugarbritches — Local services in Shallotte

I absolutely adore this shop! I went there yesterday for the first time, saw something I loved, but didn’t buy. Thought about it all day and decided to go back for it today. I called to double check what time they closed. It was 5’ish. Lol. Afterward I received a text from them telling me they would stay open a little later for me if I needed. I thought that was wonderful! Fortunately I got there before 5, bought way more than I planned and I will be back. Jenny and all the other staff I interacted with were fantastic. This is the second time visiting this store that this has happened with one of the employees. She followed us around the store acting as if we were going to steal something. The store is small so not hard to see what people are up to and when we left a picture was made of the cars in the parking lot. I have always enjoyed shopping here but doubt I will be going in again unless ownership changes. I have always spent money in the store but don’t appreciate being followed all over and treated like a would be shoplifter while being called “Sugarbritches”. This is my favorite boutique at Holden Beach! Such a classy store—definitely more upscale than your typical souvenir shop. They carry unique products you won’t find anywhere else and I always love browsing their selection of local art & home décor. Many of the pieces in our Airbnb have come from here and they always get compliments. The employees are lovely, welcoming and so friendly every time I visit.
