Worst experience I've ever had with a pharmacy!! Dropped off Rx and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes, then I received message they needed prior authorization for the insurance. The following week I received a message it was ready for pickup but when I arrived to pick it up, I was told they needed the original prescription - which is exactly what I had given them to start with, they scanned it in their system and then lost it! I was told they would find it and call me when it was ready for pickup, 2 days later I call and they are still looking but said if they didn't find it they would call my doctor. A couple days later I get a call saying it is ready for pickup, I get there to pick it up and am told they don't have anything in the system for me. I explain how this saga has been ongoing for almost 3 weeks, then she "finds" the information and will have it ready in 15 minutes or less. 8 minutes later a young man comes to the window and asks if he can help me. I explain the lady at the counter is supposedly already helping me but tell him what I need. Then he tells me they are still waiting for prior authorization for insurance. When I tell him the whole saga, he gets the pharmacist to come to the window and she makes excuses that they have not received response from my doctor (highly unlikely) but can not explain why I received calls my Rx was ready for pickup and can not even explain why the lady at the counter said it would be ready in 15 minutes or less! I requested the print out of my RX and they will NOT be bothered with having me as a customer EVER again! I have cutup my Walgreen discount/frequent shopper card. I don't know if it is insufficient training, insufficient concern or what their problem is. The VERY LEAST they could do is set up their robo call so it doesn't call and send people to pick up prescriptions that apparently do not exist! To say I am upset is a gross understatement. 3 weeks and still do not have my medication. ...
Read moreMy dog's seizure medication was due yesterday, but I was told it would be ready today after 3pm. I went back this afternoon only to be told that the medication was again not available. I told the tech that my dog was out, so I would need the script transferred. She told me it could not be transferred because it was a scheduled drug even though North Carolina code 21 NCAC 46.1806 clearly states that ALL prescriptions can be transferred. No one bothered to let me know that the prescription was not available before the vet's office closed, so I could not get a new prescription called in to another pharmacy. This is the second time this pharmacy has prevented my dog from receiving her seizure medication on her regular schedule. My family will be transferring all of our prescriptions somewhere else immediately! (Yes, my dogs are part of my family!) A competent pharmacy with competent staff would realize the importance of maintaining a strict schedule with certain types of medications, especially seizure medications! After this experience, I fully understand why the Walgreens Corporation is closing hundreds of stores! A little bit of common sense and customer service might have prevented...
Read moreWalgreens is extremely outdated in how they operate. We were initially told the medication would be ready, only to find out days later that a prior authorization was needed something they should have checked before making any promises. It ended up taking over a week with no communication from them during the process.
We shared our frustration with the doctor, and he agreed to switch all prescriptions over to Atlantic Pharmacy in Wilmington, where I usually get my medications. Walgreens made us feel like just another number. Their staff lacked knowledge and professionalism, and the whole experience was frustrating.
Once the doctor sent prescriptions to Atlantic Pharmacy, I was told right away that the copay was $0 and no prior authorization was needed. The difference in service was night and day. Atlantic Pharmacy is highly professional, they call if they need anything, order out of stock meds right away, and offer same-day delivery in Wilmington or fast 2-day delivery outside the city.
We will never deal with Walgreens again especially not this location. I absolutely do not...
