Mathis Sleep — Local services in Shawnee

Sent my 82 year old father in for a mattress in Shawnee, to support our local community. He’s a 20 year veteran, Retired from the Air Force, that needed a mattress tonight. he picked out a mattress. Went to pay for it. And discovered that they would not process his check for at least five days. Embrace technology Mathis Brothers. You could tell within minutes if there’s money in that account, but you chose to make him wait. I came in with a credit card, because again we needed the mattress tonight… And you tried to sell me a mattress cover that is just a protective cover for $89. No, I immediately ordered one off of Amazon for $29. That fits his mattress and zips up around the mattress. Then after check out I’m signing a form to be part of a membership, that I do not want. I would rather pay the extra $200 than be part of a membership that is going to get forgotten about and turn into a very expensive purchase. So now to get the mattress, we have to go into Oklahoma City. Not local. All the way to Portland to pick up the mattress because they don’t carry any stock in Shawnee. Now let’s talk about the veterans discount… There is none. You do not support our veterans. I don’t want to support you. The only reason you got this purchase is because I needed it right now and he already picked that mattress. Now about the membership, the salesman there said he would cancel my membership later on tonight. Because again I did not want it… We’ll see what happens With that.

You will no longer get our business. You don’t have product on site, you don’t support our veterans. You try to sell a $10 cover for $89. Your products are crap, and subpar. And you push memberships that nobody wants.

Then we go to set up. Holes. Now does It make a difference? No. It’s just box springs. But more than $200 for box springs? Should be 100 %...

I had one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I’ve ever had with a retail business at Mathis Sleep. While filling out financing information, I very deliberately asked multiple times if this would be a pre-qualification that would not affect my credit. I was told clearly and confidently by Seamus McGinnis that it would not be a hard inquiry. That turned out to be completely false.

They went ahead and ran a hard credit inquiry anyway — without my informed consent — which negatively impacted my credit score. I walked out of the store with absolutely nothing: no product, no purchase, and no resolution. Just wasted time and a hard inquiry that will stay on my credit report for two years.

When I contacted them for help, they did nothing at all to make the situation right. No follow-up, no effort to reverse the damage, not even basic accountability. I was completely dismissed and left to clean up their mistake on my own.

Because they refused to take responsibility, I’ve filed formal complaints with the major credit bureaus, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and several review platforms. I’m doing everything I can to help prevent this from happening to someone else.

I would not recommend Mathis Sleep to anyone — especially if you value your credit, your time, or basic honesty when making a financial decision. Proceed with...

Bray sold us this mattress with quick, easy, and wonderful customer service. We are sleeping good……Too good. The stray cats and the outside cats somehow broke in and ransacked the house, knocking multiple things off the counters. I’m talking Olympic-level chaos.

I’m usually a light sleeper and hear every little noise . Not this time.. I was too busy in a coma on the Beautyrest Black mattress. I Didn’t hear a thing. Not. A. Single. Thing.

What wonderful sleep we are getting. Could be a problem though if someone’s breaking in, we might just sleep right through it. (Dang cat burglar heist.)

The house is a mess now, but no worries. I’ve got a smile on my face Because I got good rest 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t know what kind of sorcery this mattress is made of, but I think it’s woven with angel hugs and the tears of retired chiropractors.

I woke up refreshed, peaceful, and vaguely concerned I had been kidnapped by comfort.

10/10 would recommend.. unless you’re relying on your hearing to stop a cat rebellion. In that case… good...
