Golden Ticket Cinemas Shawnee 6 — Local services in Shawnee

Employee was very unhelpful and gave awful customer service. I had bought tickets to see “I know what you did last summer” for the 7:45 showing. We walk in to scan our tickets and order some food, excited for the movie. There were two young laddies working that night, Tatiana and Isabella, I’m not sure which one was which. One was very obviously newer and the other seemed to be more “experienced”. I am originally talking with the newer employee, trying to figure out the ticket, and she asked her coworker for some help. The older employee then proceeded to ask me for my id, which I provided (i am the one who bought the tickets), she then asked my boyfriend for his and he realized he left his wallet at home. They then ask if he has an online/photo of the ID (this is important for later), and he does not. She then tells us that since we don’t both have our id’s the only thing she can do it give us refunds, despite me, the one buying the tickets, having my id. We are also both over 18 so this was incredibly frustrating. She proceeds with refund and we walk out. When we get to the car my boyfriend finally finds a picture of his ID, so we re order our tickets and head back in. When we get to the counter my boyfriend explains he found a photo of the ID. The older employee then tells us that she has to have a physical ID in order to scan our tickets, despite asking if he had a photo previously. At this point I am very annoyed. She has seen my id, she knows I’m over 18, she has seen the picture of his id (which she claimed could be fake) and knows he is also over 18, and we just want to watch the movie. She then goes on to tell us that she cannot scan our tickets or let us into the movie without an adult 25 or over (she changed between 21 and 25 like 7 or 8 times, clearly lying) I’ve never had this experience ANYWHERE, I’ve never even been ID’d for a movie before, let alone need a 25 year old to get in. It was ridiculous. She clearly either didn’t know how the movie theater/her job works, or was drunk, because this whole experience was ridiculous. Since when can two adults not get into an R rated movie?? We ended up getting yet another refund and went down to cinema centre 8 and had a painless, wonderful experience (no id’s needed btw). Golden ticket cinema has made some great updates from what the mall movie theater used to be. However, it's not perfect, but it's still a nice theater

Pros: The seats are amazing. They recline and are spacious. Anyone with anybody type will be able to sit comfortably in these seats. However, not all the theaters have heated seats that's reserved for the elite premium screen.

Being able to pick your seat is always a major plus for me. I don't have the stress of trying to get to the theater and having to fight over a seat.

The sound. Oh man! The sound is impeccable and makes the movies sound so good. I believe it's dts sound. Could be wrong, though.

The concession had some great offerings, but being able to deliver your food to your seat is always a welcome addition. No more waiting at the concession stand. Also, they have a refillable dink station. No more asking moody teenagers for a refill and being met with eye rolls. All movie theaters need to make this change.

Cons: THE BATHROOMS! OMG, the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever been in Pee on the floor, holes in the wall, and not enough stalls for both #1 or #2s. It's basically the same old mall movie theater bathrooms with maybe a new paint job, but I was disgusted.

Concession prices. I don't think this will be avoidable, but the food is pricey, and that might hinder some families 🤔 Also, I didn't see a bar and saw a coming soon message.

Overall, it's a great refurbishment but still needs a bit more upkeep. I'm thankful a new company bought the theater, let's just hope it doesn't start to wear and...

Loved it! Got the elite tix for furiosa. The sound was good, the screen was normal size, and the seats were awesome! This is now my fav cinema, no going to okc anymore. The heated seats were roomy and recline very nice. You pick your seats at the concession where you buy tickets. And the food was actually good, got the large boneless wings for 11 bucks and the pretzel sticks with cheese. They also serve to your seat. They had a refill your own drink station. The bathrooms were clean. Didn't have beer or wine yet, said it was coming soon. They have hot dogs, pizza, nachos, boneless wings, fried cheese curds, jalapeno poppers, pretzel sticks, and of course popcorn and candy. For 2 elite tix, large boneless wings and pretzel sticks, it was about $55. We will be back! The peeps at the counter were nice too. The prices are not as terrible as I was expecting tbh. I was expecting like $10 hotdogs, I think they were $5.50 and the small boneless was $7... I mean, it was also tastier than bww...
