Two weeks ago on Saturday, approximately 6:00 pm we walked in and stood in the waiting area. Waitresses walked by, never greeted or said anything to us. I went to use the restroom and walked back out and no one said anything to the person I was with we stood there for 20 minutes and nobody greeted us still. People walked in behind us and went and sat down. So we went ahead and sat down. Waitresses walking past us several times even looked at us and made eye contact and still no one said hi, no one brought us menus, drinks, no one came to take our order but continually walked right past us. The couple at the table next to us made the comment about how horrible their service had been the entire time they had been there saying it was same exact experience they had that we had but they finally got their order taken and 30 minutes later they finally got their food. The place wasn’t real busy to begin with so they like us thought it wouldn’t be horrible like it was. We finally gave up on trying to get the waitresses attention after waving and making eye contact etc. so we got up to leave and the closest table next to us said they wish they had got up and left and so we left and went next door to Cracker Barrel. We were greeted and seated at Cracker Barrel within 1 minute. Waitress came and brought us our drinks and took our order within a minute. We had our food within 10 minutes. Cracker Barrel 5 stars across the board. IHOP lost my business forever due to this experience. My family and I usually have breakfast on Saturday mornings at one in Okc but this experience in shawnee made me so furious that we will do business elsewhere with local own, Oklahoma owned, family owned over franchise owned/corporate owned stores. The one waitress that I can recall that was horrible had the sides of her head shaved. If I was the owner, she would be fired period. Just horrible overall. If I was corporate, I would consider firing the...
Read moreOur waitress was very kind and sweet. She was new and a pleasure to have her to keep this from being a total failure. The hashbrowns had been cooked earlier and set aside and then flipped over on a grill to brown the underside but then the bottom was burned and so crisp it was next to impossible to eat. Sausage links were burned and dry like show leather, zero taste. Not sure what the cooks at IHOP are doing. You're hiring failures that other restaurants will not hire or have already fired. IHOP used to be the best breakfast place ever. Not anymore. We go and get disappointed and then wait a month and try again. Sorry it seems to get worse instead of better as time goes.. some of the cooks look so unprofessional and they are also so slow. Wait for 20 minutes to get breakfast with empty seats all over is not a good look. Then when you get the food it isn't really edible. We drove 25 miles to go eat there and 25 miles back. You just got to get better or IHOP is in trouble. Our waitress was literally the only thing you had going on our visit. I would have given her a 100% tip had she told the cooks I will not serve those greasy hashbrowns and the burned Sausage links. You need to make this right. I literally would have given her a $30.09 tip for 2 meals had she done that. As a waitress back in the day when I was much younger, I refused to serve many many many meals due to burned and unfit look on the plate. People pay for their food and they don't expect it to be burned, tasteless and really not really fit to eat. Please give our waitress, who I did leave a little more than 15% tip because she was great. Had she refused to serve inedible food that would have jumped to a 100% tip. She is great. Build your business on those people that do provide superior service and get rid of the bad actors that are there for a paycheck but they don't know how or don't care about doing...
Read moreI had the chicken and waffles. When the waitress brought out my waffles, she asked me if they were "to done", which to most would have been overcooked, but I like crispy waffles so I was good with them. Then 7 minutes later she brought out my chicken with another waffle, since she felt the other waffle was "to done". Right away I could tell that the chicken was way overcooked as it was dark brown. When I bit into a piece of it, it had been so overcooked that the meat inside was dry and hard. I asked the waitress to come to our table and when she got there I showed her the chicken. She said she was sorry and asked if there was anything else she could get me. I wanted the chicken and waffles but had already eaten most of my waffles waiting for the chicken so I asked if she could just take the chicken off the ticket. She said no its a meal then went into this long explanation about how the cooks aren't able to adjust the cook time because the chicken tenders are bigger, blah blah blah... As she's explaining this to my mom and I she inadvertently leans into our table, knocking a piece of the other waffle that was served with the chicken, off of the plate. I must say she had some pretty quick reflexes though because she managed to catch the waffle with her bare hand and then proceeded to set it back on the plate. She turns to leave, hesitates, turns back around, grabs the plate and without another word to us she walks towards the kitchen hollering out to the cook to make me some more chicken. By this point I am done with my waffles, my mom has long since finished her pancakes and we are ready to go however our waitress is no where to be found. She finally returns with our ticket and a new plate of chicken. Needless to say mom and I will not be meeting at...
