Festival Foods on Taylor Drive in Sheboygan isn't your average grocery store. Sure, they have all the essentials, but for carnivores like myself, their true claim to fame is the unrivaled meat department. Here's why:
From the moment you step into the meat department, the difference is clear. The cuts are beautifully marbled, with a vibrant red color that screams freshness. They don't skimp on variety either. Whether you're a grill master seeking perfectly aged steaks or a slow-cooker enthusiast looking for bone-in roasts, Festival Foods has what you need. They even have a great selection of exotic meats and sausages for the adventurous cook.
The butchers at Festival Foods aren't just slinging meat; they're experts. They can answer any questions you have about cuts, cooking methods, and even recommend recipes. Need a specific thickness for your cutlets? No problem. Looking for the perfect steak for a special occasion? They'll guide you like a pro. This level of service makes the shopping experience a breeze and ensures you get exactly what you need.
While the meat department steals the show, Festival Foods doesn't stop there. They have a fantastic selection of fresh seafood, with options you won't find at other grocery stores in Sheboygan. Plus, their homemade sausages and cured meats are a delicious way to add variety to your meals.
Overall, Festival Foods on Taylor Drive is a must-visit for any serious meat lover. The quality of their products, the expertise of their butchers, and the overall selection make it a one-stop shop for all your grilling, roasting, and culinary adventures. Just be prepared to drool as you browse their impressive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOriginal review from 2 years ago: A huge selection but pricey. I'd only recommend going for things not available at other places. Checking out is a joke. No one available while scanning your own now? Something scans wrong? Too bad. I left an item at the checkout because there was no way of fixing it. I'm not searching the store to get the correct price. If it doesn't ring up correct, and no one around to help, what do you do? Losing another star from me.
Update 3/20: Went in to try to find something I hadn't seen at other grocery stores for a while (red Baron breakfast pizzas). They didn't have them here either, oh well. I tried to find some other quick breakfast item and the prices are insane. But, it's Wednesday, so cheap sushi, right? I check out the $5 bin. None is actually marked at $5. I was very hesitant to try again, remembering the fun I had the last time here. I tried anyways. Sure enough, rings up wrong again. Almost $10. There was a worker there this time and she explained that 'the price changes after you pay' or some other incredibly shady sounding 'fix'. So, it sounds like the only time you'll know if you're actually getting the correct price is AFTER you pay...? Yeah, not playing those stupid games, and I really wish the BBB or some other agency would look into whatever that shady practice is. Go F...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFestival was always known to me as a pricier, more premium store than others in the area, but that is changing now. It's still keeping its premium feel, but I find the prices more and more rivaling Pick N Save, and even Walmart! I've been to Walmart and Festival on the same day, looking for the same products, and found Festival to have better pricing on the same things. I'm not even talking about sale or coupon items either. I think they're doing a great job at staying competitive. Besides for that, they have the biggest selection of ... well ... everything! The produce especially. I'm from New York, where the produce selection of a little corner grocery store rivals that of Pick N Save here, but Festival actually comes close to what I'm used to a supermarket having. The deli is immense, offering all kinds of salads and hot foods. Even when the deli is closed, there are pre-packaged containers of most of the deli foods available. There are also complete meals on the other side of the deli. So if there's ever a late night, not many restaurants open, you don't feel like cooking much, and you're hungry, come by Festival and grab something to eat! They're open 24/7. I can keep on writing more and more about this store but it just has so much selection from all kinds of things that you wouldn't find anywhere else...
