ALDI — Local services in Shelby

I'm not usually an Aldi shopper but after today I think that's going to change. I went to my regular grocery store today and saw that the prices had gone up almost 50% on some items so I decided to give Aldi a try and I'm so glad I did. The store was clean, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was very nice. The checkout line was pretty long so they opened up two more registers and then apologized for the long lines. If you're on a budget, and don't mind buying items that aren't the usual name brand, then you should give this store a try. I brought along my own bags but they did have some available for ninety-eight cents. The only thing they don't carry that I needed was some pet food but I found that at another store for a much more reasonable price than what they were asking at my usual place. They have a great selection of breads and the meat looked very good too. If like me you're on a budget you should definitely...

I really like Aldi's. This store is neat and put together. The fresh produce selection is fairly varied. The Aldi brand items is usually of equal, if not better, quality as their name brand counterparts. The restroom is clean and accessible. One should be prepared at the register. The cashier does their best (which is usual an awesome job) at expediting checkout. Bring your own bags or you have to pay for theirs. Their asking prices are fair and inexpensive. You'll need a quarter to "rent" a buggy, but you get it back upon return. I've often had other shoppers offer me their buggy as they are leaving and the one time i had to walk in and get a quarter from the register (i needed change), it didn't seem to be a problem. The only thing I would say needs improvement is how the staff respond to their customers... As an RN, we very seldom get off work in time to get to the grocery store before it closes... That being said, I HAD to get groceries after work.. Which ended up being 15 minutes before closing time. I hurried as quickly as possible, but still felt rushed to get out of the store. I kept asking for help to find bags/boxes to put my groceries in, but I was either ignored or told they were out if bags and ALL the boxes were being "broke down." I had to put ALL my groceries loose in my trunk.. I was pretty disappointed with the service... But as always I did end up getting 3/4 a buggy full for only $99.00! I guess in the end you gotta weigh the good with...
