Ingles Markets — Local services in Shelby

Great grocery store, always has very good deals, and is well-stocked! Really good customer service and I am very happy with what my wife and I consistently consider excellent service and groceries.

Very clean store, and my wife always comments on how clean the bathrooms are which is a big deal to her.

Every time I’ve tried to locate a product, the staff has always willingly went out of their way to make sure that I not only was told where it was at, but they all with directly take me to it, and that means a lot to me as a consumer.

When my wife and I moved to the area about six years ago, we were very sad to leave the convenience of our than favorite store Harris Teeter.

Ingles is a hidden gem and as another business owner to another business owner you guys got your stuff together and I don’t feel like I am at a loss because Harris Teeter is not around the Kings Mountain area .

I love Harris Teeter but I’m telling you we get better service at Ingles and it is a really good company and I highly recommend shopping with this corporation .

I also want to comment that I love that several days before the produce would be considered throwing away they significantly discounted and if you use it right away, it’s a no-brainer !

Huge value, and my grocery bill has nowhere near went up like other friends and colleagues of mine says there has went up and to me that says something !

This Ingles has only been open for a few weeks so it is brand new. As a result, the store is incredibly clean and well laid out. This store has a Starbucks that is located inside of the store in case you need a boost to make it through grocery shopping. The highlight of the store, at least in my opinion, is the meat department at the back of the store. They have a great selection of meats that can be cut to your preference. They also have a lot of seasoned and stuffed options available. Examples of the stuffed items are Apple Maple stuffed Salmon with Bacon and Spinach and Feta stuffed Chicken. The seasoned items include Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Bourbon Salmon. The folks behind the counter are helpful, attentive, and always willing to provide you the cut or thickness you are looking for. If you are looking for a high quality one or even two inch thick steak then this is your place. The deli is also nice with a good selection of meats and cheeses.

One thing to note about some of the pictures is that they were taken two days before a recent NC snow storm. If you are from NC or the south in general you know that when the forecast calls for a few flurries the shelves empty out in a heartbeat. I can't begin to imagine what the shelves looked like the next day when the snow storm was all but a guarantee but I'm sure there wasn't a slice of bread or a drop of milk...

I usually go into this ingles to pick up a zero sugar energy drink and non dairy ben and jerrys ice cream before I head to the gym to workout. There was a young Caucasian female at the self checkout out podium as I entered with some Caucasian customers at the self checkout in which she stood as if she was a statue while they were ringing their items. I've come into this store on numerous occasions and when she's working it's like her "spidey senses" tingle. She will slowly come from around the counter to "get surveillance " on me not knowing my peripheral vision is sharp. Well....it wasn't smooth enough for me not to notice her just to all of a sudden come from around the podium while white shoppers were scanning items before and during without her even batting an eye at them but when a 46byear old single father of 3 sons comes then it's bells and whistles. As a law abiding citizen and a black father regardless of my occupation we are still considered threats. A black man never murdered church parishioners in a church like Dylan roof, gunned down black shoppers in a grocery store, etc
