I came here for the first time for pine board, dowels, and fasteners to make a small Coast Salish-style loom. So, not a big job. As a cisgender female, I've experienced the highs and lows of big box, franchise, and family run hardware and lumber stores. Perhaps I had already low expectations, but I was blown away the moment I walked in. I noticed the incredibly clean, shiny floor and the welcoming and aesthetically pleasing layout. I was greeted and helped immediately, taken aisle to aisle to get everything I needed (but didn't know the exact name for). I was shocked to learn I could get six cuts for free for the wood I purchased because in my neighborhood, the lumberyard 14 miles south charges $1 per cut. Dunn Lumber is THE lumber store if quality is important to you. Places like Home Depot and Lowe's are fine when you need something quick and cheap, but if you project requires quality materials, tools, and expertise, then Dunn is the place. My recent visit required good wood treatment for our cedar deck, and the highest-rated product isn't available at the cheaper package stores, so Dunn was the place. I also needed cedar facia boards...again, Dunn had it and in the lengths I needed, whereas the other stores were lacking. As always, the people at Dunn were quick and had great advice.
