Not sure how this place have such great reviews. I've encountered so many issues going to them. The place really just deserves 1 star. I'm giving 2 because they had the best price for the tires, and we haven't had any issues with the tires themselves. -My first issue was, they called at 720am to confirm my appt for the next day. As a foster mother of infants, sleep is so hard to come by. Should be a practice to call ppl during regular business hrs of 9 to 5. After confirming at 720am the day before, get there at my appt time and my tires weren't even there. Was told to come back after 2pm or something like that, when they usually get their delivery and my tires should be there. Went back at the time they said, and nope, my tires still weren't there. Had to wait a week for my off day to bring the car back. Take the car back, I needed brakes, rotors, and some other things. Which I already knew and had an appt somewhere else. They said they will price match (which on the receipts don't look like they did). So since I was there already I said ok. Within a couple of months, my car had like a shutter. I thought maybe it was one of the rear wheels. Took it back there since they were the one who did the brakes and rotors to see if it was one of those and to have my warranty cover it. They told me it was due to a bad rotor and whatever part holds the rotor. Warranty covered the rotor but not the other part which cost almost $600. I said ok go ahead and fix it. Not to mention they didn't tell me how long it was going to take so after already waiting for over 3 hrs they finally tell me it will be another 2 to 3 hrs. Like why would you not mention that when you know I was waiting here for the car. -Thee very next day while driving to work, guess what, the car shutters again. That $600 job did not fix the issue. Was told to bring the car back. I made an appt for my next off day. Forgot I had a doc appt the day of that appt, so I called to see if I could just bring the car in the day before or after I leave my doctors appt. Wanted to speak to the manager, believe his name is Kyle(?), the one who called me at 720am, he was on lunch. Left a message with the person who answered the phone and was told he would call me back after lunch. Well it's been over a month and I'm still waiting. Ended up taking my car to GMC to get checked and found out it is my torque converter. Which costs and arm and leg , maybe a kidney too, to get fixed. But that $600 I paid to fix the rotor component that likely didn't even need to be fixed at that time, could of went towards the real issue...

I brought my car in a few weeks ago with a screw in the tire. I knew I needed new tires soon so I decided to just get them replaced. Kyle accommodated me even though I showed up late in the evening. I had talked to a call center when I originally called and they told me they had the same Goodyears currently on my car in stock. When I got there, Kyle informed me that they were not in stock, but he did have a different tire with similar wear ratings. He was helpful in getting the right tires installed and getting me back on the road.

I noticed shortly after leaving that the new tires were very noisy. There was a low “hum” that started around 40 mph and continued through all highway speeds. I thought it would go away after a few hundred miles, but it did not.

I called Kyle and expressed my concerns - I do a lot of highway driving and can’t have it humming for 50,000 miles. He said to come back and he would take care of me. He took my car for a test drive and said he wasn’t able to hear anything. I disagreed and said that I know that hum wasn’t there before I got those tires installed. He offered to let me drive and took a test drive with me. I was able to point out the low hum and he heard it as well and agreed.

I expressed my frustration that I had come to Mavis (versus going somewhere else) because I was told the Goodyears were in stock. Kyle listened to my frustrations and agreed to let me swap the tires for the Goodyears I originally wanted (that were now in stock). Kyle and his crew got my car in about 30 minutes before close and had me back in the road by closing time.

The new tires are much quieter and much smoother.

I’ve had frustrations with mechanics refusing to do the right thing in the past, so it was really nice to work with Kyle. He didn’t hesitate to make the situation right and make sure I was happy with the outcome. He was professional and accommodating. I will definitely be back when my other car...

Absolutely stellar service. Long story but the basic gist is that this is a wonderful place where the people are incredibly kind and skilled. My tire blew out on the freeway and the first place the tow company took me was very scary and visibly had many literal signs that they were homophobic, and I did not feel safe. The first place also didn’t have a tire. The tow truck driver and I started calling around to find a place with a tire that would fit my car, while the driver was vaguely threatening that he might have to leave me and take my car if there wasn’t a place that would take me. I was absolutely terrified as I’m from Ohio and was stranded in the middle of nowhere with my friends stuck at a gas station waiting for me to be able to pick them up. Finally found Mavis Tires & Brakes and Michelle confirmed on the phone that they had tires that would fit my car. When we got to Mavis I talked to Brandon and he was absolutely WONDERFUL. He was chipper, kind, calmed me down, and helped me know that everything was going to be ok. Gave me an estimate on time (1-2 hours since my tire was really messed up), helped me pick out a tire and didn’t pressure me to get the most expensive option (I went with the option one level above the cheapest just because I was worried about the rest of my drive). He explained how the tires worked and that my problem was just an extremely unlucky accident as my other tires were in decent condition. Brandon, Michelle, and a mechanic whose name I unfortunately did not get ended up getting me out of there in 30 minutes. Much faster than I was expecting! If I lived in this area I would absolutely recommend them to everyone I know. Incredibly kind and compassionate people who know what they’re doing and will help you out when you need it.
