On Tuesday, October 2, 2022, I ordered 10 Traditional Wings and Fries online for pickup at 9:30 PM. I arrived early, and the location is essentially empty. There are probably just 10 visitors total in the structure. I arrived early, the host informed me, that my order would be ready at 9:30 PM. After 9:30 PM had passed, there were perhaps 3 more customers in the lobby waiting for their online orders, but the host had vanished, and staff members kept walking past us without giving us any updates or acknowledging our presence.
I had to do something because I feel bored when people ignore me, so I opted to go around the counter and peek into the kitchen. I decided to go behind the counter and peek in the kitchen to see if I could grab anyone's attention since, unfortunately, when I am ignored, I get bored and have to do something. I just kept going as the employees turned to stare at me but didn't say anything. I removed the sauces and read the labels after opening the warmer to see what was inside. Still, nothing was done. I then contacted the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Shorewood, Illinois to see if they would pick up so I could let them know there were customers at the front who needed help.
That also did not work because no employee answered the phone. I repeated this five times, and the workers simply ignored the phone when it rang. Before I even got an update on my purchase, it was after 09:50 PM. When the manager eventually emerged, she was furious with me for going into the back room behind the counter. I apologized to her but I get bored and no one was helping in the front. In my defense, there isn't a sign that says that it's for staff only. If Buffalo Wild Wings doesn't want me in the back area, they should put up a sign saying as such.
The management claimed that they were understaffed, but I disagree because I observed staff members loitering and doing nothing except having fun. Good customer service was simply not important to these personnel. I finally got my order at 10:05 PM, the server had 2 orders in there hand. They looked at an order bag read off my name and gave me my order. They look at the other and called out that person and gave them the other order.
The person who had the other order was gone and had forgotten to check it, but I checked my order before I left and discovered that, despite having read my name on the purchase receipt, she had given me the wrong order. How do you do that?
There was no way I was going to wait another 30 minutes for them to remake my order. After this, I was done and requested a refund. The manager arrived and completed the reimbursement. I received a receipt from the manager, but it wasn't for a reimbursement. After waiting a week, I learned that my refund had not been processed. To receive my refund, I had to initiate a chargeback on my credit card.
Wow, despite the awful experiences I've had in the past with restaurants, this one tops them all. Buffalo Wild Wings - Shorewood, IL lost my business for a while, there is Wing Stop and Canes around there. There is no point giving them my money if service is going to be this...

The girl that served us I don't know her name that's actually because she didn't bother telling us , was so rude and not wanting to do her job ! She did tell me she was 19 so she didn't know much about the beer selection, but anyways. She brought out our appetizer with our meal , that was strike one , but I let it go whatever, what really made me upset was that she never came back to check on us if the food was good or even if we needed refills, I finally got up and saw her sitting with a co worker eating food lol, she ran up to me running saying omg sorry babe I gave her my cups to refill with water !!! She didn't bother putting more ice in it , then tried blaming the kitchen being down?? I asked what does that have to do with the water she said nothing omg the water is up and going !!! I was super upset by that , like about 5-6 mins later she comes back and tells me we are closing the restaurant do you want the check now ??? Didn't bother saying what was the reason the restaurant was closing so early or evening by saying it a better way ? For example he restaurant is closing, but take your time in finishing up your food let me know if you need refills on anything !?? Instead she was jumping with joy saying out loud omg I can't believe I get to go home and go to sleep!! Super disappointed in the service and her actions essentially after I told her I'm paying my bill but I want to tell you that your service was terrible and I won't be leaving a tip for you ! Due to your service, I explained I love tipping because I work in the tipping industry and love making someone's day , but your service was absolutely disappointing! Manager came over since she started getting loud with me instead of hearing what I was trying to explain to her , and he gave me a gift card !!! Like that's not why I'm complaining ! He honestly didn't even want to hear me out himself !! But atleast he stayed calm . I hope she learns from this but maybe she's not the right fit for that type of job ! The good thing is that we don't live out there and we don't ever have to go back...

My boyfriend and I came to the Shorewood location for dinner and were told by the hostess, Faith, she just has to clean a table for us to be seated. A couple came in after us and supposedly pointed out a table that was just cleaned and was seated there because they questioned why they couldnāt sit there. I asked the hostess why they were seated before us and she explained the above response and sat us right after which is fine but regardless of the wait time, we should have been seated first and the other couple should have been told they had to wait. After that I heard the hostess say our appetizer would be free and my response was āoh okay thank you!ā By the time our check came the appetizer was on there and we explained everything to our waitress, Jackie, who did a little digging and the manager came to our table with Faith asking us what we were told and who told us. Faith became defensive but tried to stay professional (I know how to kill people with kindness too). Rather than the manager apologizing for the miscommunication and giving us the appetizer for free anyway, she offered nothing and went on. The food was great and our waitress was amazing and very apologetic. Unfortunately because of Faith and the manager on duty we will not return to that location. As a side note, many people I know have said they will never return due to the poor customer service and service in general at that location. Itās a hit or miss no matter where you go and unfortunately, because of those 2 workers, it was a miss for us.
