“OMG PHO”, a restaurant that earns a very lavish review from me! For me, having the typical Raising Canes to go to, I really enjoyed this Vietnamese restaurant. After wanting to try this for almost a year, my girlfriend and I finally got the perfect reason to try it. A school assignment! Ranging from everything to customer service, to scenery, and all the way to the dishes served. A very clean environment where I didn’t have to focus on much but the task at hand, grubbing! This establishment did a phenomenal job of making me and my girlfriend feel at home. This is all without even mentioning the food and how fast they managed to get it out. The menu had tons of variety to start. But every, and I mean every dish had a healthy addition added to it. Not necessarily all in your face and force fed but like I said, an option. I also really enjoy the way every dish had their own brand new flavor presented. Almost no repetitive options. The menu also had some prices on the lower end as well (considering how nice the place is) Our customer service was top tier too! There were no issues or misunderstandings when ordering the food and it was all so easy to do. Our waiter gave us the time we needed to decide and returned almost immediately afterwards. He also considered if any of us had allergies and suggested other options just in case. The only bad thing I have to say is about the poor connection. It came to be an issue later on but no big deal. Just be aware if you plan to use apple pay lol. Probably better to bring a card or cash anyway. In conclusion this place is surely a must try! When I put together all the pros and cons the pros outweigh the cons. Therefore if I had to rate this place I’d rate it a 8.5/10 (Which is fairly good!). I strongly encourage you to try this restaurant especially if you have plans to...
Read moreOh... no. no no no no no. Whoever gave this place more than a star, what kinds of food do you eat in your daily life to consider this good? I'm dumbfounded.
I ordered the Three Chili Chicken and my fiance ordered the House Chicken Fried Rice. The "chicken" in my dish was... well, I yelled "What IS THIS" over and over upon opening it once home. Photos included. The "chicken" was in very strange pieces, some were the literal size of a sweet pea or skittle, some where the size of a dime--no rhyme or reason. It was a dish of itty, bitty, tiny little scraps of some kind of mystery meat in a lot of flour/cornstarch, that when pulled apart (had to dig to find a piece big enough) had the consistency of a man-made material almost. It WASN'T chicken breast. No chef, no cook anywhere would cut a chicken breast into pieces the size of skittles and dimes and occasional nickels and quarters... it made no sense. I'm so confused on what it was. It was greasy, smelled, and the consistency was alien. I tasted a piece and upon chewing, spit it out. Couldn't eat it. My fiance said his was "okay", at least his pieces looked reminiscent of what chicken should look like. I had a bite of his rice (not the "chicken") and it wasn't terrible, but it tasted a lot like the frozen fried rice you get from the grocery store in the microwavable dinner area. BIG YIKES to this place. I'd actually legitimately pay money to have a look around their kitchen and investigate what kind of meat they're masquerading as chicken. I'd love to solve...
Read moreFood: Its fine. Maybe make sure youre good with Phu first? I ordered Bun (Noodles with beef, not in a soup, served hot) "B8" its ok. Comes with mint, and fish sauce? I gave it a try. Ps. And peanuts? Which is not defined in the menu.
Maybe ill try the PHU soup and that will be better.
Storefront: its slightly dirty. Like doors and windows need cleaned. Tables are clean, but styrofoam blocks under the legs. Fans and fixtures are dusty. Paint etc small stuff.
Service: Helpful and friendly. Answered questions, provided direction. They said they dont have any personal experience with the food. To that end the menu should be updated to be more explanatory and helpful. I was googling alot.
Service ice for water out of an igloo cooler. Ice spoon placed back in the cooler. Not in a holder presumably. Water served with said ice just in a pitcher sitting at the hosts desk.
All this to say as someone who has no idea, walks in just to try w.e this is. First impressions could have been better, definitely questions the cleanliness in the back after previous review sighted water...
