I recently read that At Home filed chapter 11 bankruptcy. This gives the business a second chance to restructure their finance while continue operating and paying off creditors over time. The owner may not know this exist in some of his stores. To pay back debit or improve after a second opportunity, it starts with the Store Manager. He (Store Manager) needs to understand these characteristics of a bad leader. Poor communication, know it all attitude, lack of empathy, no transparency, not listening, No accountability, favoritism, Inconsistency and Indecisive. You have to be a people person to get the most out of your team. This store manager doesn't like talking to the customer providing customer service. This manager doesn't like for his employees to talk to the customer as well. This store manager really doesn't like communicating with his team. A few minutes with a customer's grantee you that the customer is more likely to repeat, purchase add on, spend more money, charge more or open a credit account. If you don't practice on training your employees to take care of that customer before they reach the check out, don't expect for the customer to open an account or return. You train employees how to work hard, walk by customers and not acknowledge them. Get your employees to buy in on talking care of the customer. But if the store manager doesn't buy in first or believe in it, how can sale it to your employees. This second change should help you to buy into it. Treat your employees...
Read moreI was really excited that we were finally getting an At Home decor store here in Shreveport but after today's visit I will no longer be a customer. I found a headboard and footboard that I wanted to purchase on their website and made sure to put in Shreveport as my location. Made my way over there to be told they didn't carry any footboards. What???? I asked the manager why the website informed me that they had it in stock. Her response was that the website is not working properly and that corporate was aware of the problem and is fixing it as we speak. So pretty much deceiving the customers. She then proceded to tell me that the Tyler location was an older store and may have it in stock. She didn't offer to contact them for me knowing that I was frustrated.I walked away upset obviously but to add to my aggravation, she located me a few minutes later to ask me if I wanted Tyler's number! Ughh!!! I was beyond aggravated! So I thought maybe I should try calling Tyler. I really liked the footboard. I called and wasn't able to speak to a live person. One prompt said to go on the website to see if that location had the item in stock and then another said to leave a message and someone would contact me. From reading other people's review on thier FB page, finding someone to help was difficult. This was my other issue with the store. It took me at least 10 minutes to find an empIoyee to help me locate the headboard and took 5 minutes before the manager showed up....
Read moreIt was raining. My daughter let me out at door and went to park. The rain had just started. Nothing to keep the rain from coming in. The carts require a lot energy to get. They have them sort of locked together. I pulled and pulled could not get one out! Moved down to another cart. Pulled hard and out shot a cart that zI was pulling on and the one next to it that tried to get. The water on the floor and wrestling 2 carts caused me to fall backwards against the glass window. It sounded like a cannon had been shot. I ruptured a cyst behind my left knee. Bruised my legs and knees because one of the carts got my legs tangled. My daughter and a young man helped me up. The manager did ask if I wanted to fill out a report. My neck was hurting ,my head was hurting and swelling. I went home. Suggestions have something in place to keep water from being a hazard. My Jean's soaked up the water that day. The manager said they have to put the carts that way so they dont cause a mess. I dont know what he would have considered my accident....A MESS. After the accident I was trembling all over. At that point. He should have insisted on a report. There would of been. NO WAY I could of driven...
