Let’s start with the good. The food is outstanding. Don't miss this. I will go back until I've tried it all.

The not so good. I arrived Friday at 8:15 for an 8:30 reservation. After 5 minutes of waiting on a host, I was finally greeted and assured I would be seated in "9 minutes" at 8:30. At 8:31(close) I was seated at one of three empty tables at which I had gazed the entire time I stood waiting at the entrance. The waitress, Bethany, greeted us fairly quickly and took our drink and appetizer order. This was hot crab claws and boudin dip. The appetizers arrived quickly. I could eat 6 orders of the crab claws (pictured). They were small, but delicious. The Boudin dip was supposed to come with "chicken cracklins" which I had been looking forward to. Unfortunately, they were out of cracklins and toast points were served instead. The boudin dip was loaded with cheese and delicious.

The bad. I ordered a half dozen "Bloody Mary" oysters and our entrees before we finished the appetizers. 30 minutes passed during which three parties were seated around us. The second party to arrive had already received their entrees and the first party had finished their appetizers which included one variety of raw oysters. I don't know if they were "Bloody Mary" or not. I asked Bethany about my oysters and she said the kitchen was really busy. I pointed out the table that had finished theirs after having been seated subsequent to the delivery of our appetizers. She said she would check it out. I learned later she failed to put in the order. It was around 9:25 when my oysters were served. They were very small, but delicious. There were seven of them and they were gone in 90 seconds. Again we wait on entrees. 2 of the 3 late arriving parties had checked out. I sat back in my chair facing the bar to the left of my table. Jeff, the host that initially greeted us, passed by and recognized my discontent as the third party left. He kept walking but returned shortly apologizing for the 45 minute wait. I couldn’t help but correct him that it was in fact 1 hour, 25 minutes now. He said he had already rushed our entrees, and there was no excuse for this type service, other than the waitress failed to put the orders in. He said he comped our ā€œmeal.ā€ Exactly 1 hour 30 minutes after being seated, our entrees were served at 10:01. They were just a "Fried Green BLT" and "Brisket and Grits" (pictured) nothing too fancy. Both were very good, however, the brisket was on par with NOLA brisket. You can’t get brisket in New Orleans as good as we have anywhere on the I-20 corridor. I wouldn't go there for the brisket. Not bad, just not as outstanding as the other items. At one point, because of delays, Bethany, our server, offered drinks on the house, which we accepted. We were given the check as they were cleaning up for the night. All that had been comped were the entrees. The additional drinks were not "on the house." Jeff did give a $50 gift card that will get used. I will go back, but also politely demand that Bethany not be my server. Although a very sweet and pleasant person, her lack of attention and dishonesty dragged The Pearl Restaurant down from 5 star to just 1.

Just some notes. If ordering a specialty cocktail that comes with crushed ice, ask for a straw to stir it before you send it back. They have paper signs on some doors indicating no entry, but fail to point out the direction to the main entrance. I walked half way around the building. They use straight tap water. Shreveport water has tasted like dirt as long as I can remember. Some restaurants recognize this and filter or otherwise remedy it. I rarely order water or tea at any Shreveport restaurant for this reason.

I do highly recommend you try The Pearl Restaurant. The food is outstanding and mostly incomparable to anything else I've experienced in the area. During the wait, I saw many other appetizers and entrees go to other tables. Everything looked fabulous. They are going through some growing pains here and I am sure they can resolve the issues I experienced...

I was asked by a coworker to be the Guinea pig for a newer restaurant in Shreveport,La in hopes of acquiring a new spot for our monthly dinner. The waiter I had did the best job he could do, my problem is with the management/kitchen. I ordered a shrimp appetizer for my wife that never came to our table, instead they gave our food to a gentleman sitting across from us that we knew we ordered before. After telling our waiter he informed the kitchen & after another 20 mins I asked the server about it, letting him know he may have brought our food to the wrong table. The server spoke to us in a contemptuous tone informing us that our waiter would help us(this is the same guy bringing out our food). The Shrimp was brought out to the same table as before, although the other patron said he only ordered 1 the server told him it must’ve been a mistake and it was fine for him to keep it oblivious to me and my wife sitting across bewildered. We told our waiter he could take the shrimp app off & I disclosed to him that my food was too salty. My portobello steak was burnt and dried out, the side chimichurri was extremely salty resulting in a headache shortly after. My wife’s food was a little too salty for her taste but nothing in comparison to mine. My wife ordered the Catfish Atchafalaya, we also got the shark cuterie board, half dozen chipotle bourbon oysters (cooked), taste of Louisiana app(good), and a chocolate molten cake to go. I told the waiter I enjoyed the chimichurri oysters not so much the Bloody Mary, and I didn’t like the Green mignonette. Everything else taste good besides my food. Our waiter sent the manager to our table and he told us it was only there 2nd day open and they were still working out the kinks back in the kitchen however he could take the shrimp off of our ticket ( the shrimp that never came ) & inform the kitchen. My whole entree was sent back with the exception of a couple pieces of asparagus which I tasted first. I wasn’t upset me and my wife had already discussed that we probably wouldn’t be coming back and I wasn’t hungry because I ate the oysters by myself . Our total was about $120 we tipped the waiter 20 bucks and left. We arrived to The Pearl @1:00pm fast forward to 3am the next day and my stomach and colon felt as if it they were twisting. I was suffering from food poisoning having diabolical diarrhea. I tried to take pepto and electrolytes to settle my stomach and I threw it up shortly after. I can say 100% it was from the restaurant because that’s the only thing I ate that day. Honestly they were raw oysters ( shark cuterie board) I’m not sure if they mishandled the temps of shellfish or I just got a few bad oysters but what I do know is I was miserable for the most part of my day. Unable to go to work and sleeping most of the day through because my insides felt like they were contortioning all morning long. My experience wasn’t great and I won’t be going back. They should train the managers in customer service resolution and address servers when mistakes are made so they can be mended and forgotten about. If u go to The Pearl I hope your experience is better than what we experienced, unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend due to my own...

My first time visiting this place. It was my baby cousin's birthday dinner. I arrived late, so I did a to-go order, I was told not to worry about ordering anything(due to the fact everyone had already finished eating). I was warned about the service also. But I'm the type of person who has to figure things out out from my own experience. Now from my personal experience the waitress (Kayden/Hailey) that assisted me and taking my order was great to me. The only problem I have is my food. I ordered the Catfish Atchafalaya to go. Now I should of checked it before I left but I didn't. I arrived home to find I did not have the Catfish Atchafalaya and the Crawfish ƉtouffĆ©e did not have crawfish in it!šŸ˜‘šŸ˜” They gave me fried chicken. And the etouffee sauce only had tomatoes (now this could be from the crawfish shortage) I called the restaurant and no one answered the phone. I attempted to be thankful and eat it, but it was just too disgusting. In all honesty I was warned because I was told how they messed up alot of the other members of the party orders, and they even complained about the service. But for me the service I received was OK. I mean I've been a waitress before and I know how it can be to have a large party. Especially if your new, so good job Kayden/Hailey ( not quite sure what her name actually was due to it being loud) but she did good a job from my interaction with her.(I even tipped on top of the gratuity) But my order was wrong and very nasty. I saved my food and will be calling the establishment when they open to see if they correct the problem. I will update later. Thanks for taking the time to read my extremely long review😁

Update 11:24am- I did call up and the lady took my information and informed me the manager was busy at the moment but would call me back. She was very polite I must add.

Update 11:27am- The manager called me informed me that he was already aware of it that they were wondering last night where did the chicken order go ( made me wonder about the why did the chicken cross the road jokešŸ˜†) and they will provide me with the correct order.

Updated picture 12:18pm- Now this is what I order and it's looks delicious.

Thank you manager Josh and staff of The Pearl for resolving this for me and making this experience even better while remaining positive and...

This my favorite restaurant in all of Shreveport/Bossier. When I tell you this place exceeds all my expectations on every plate. I’ve had the Shrimp and Grits 3Xs now and I still say they are the best in the STATE! Bold statement I know but go try it and let me know. Ask for Jeff, He is our go to waiter too! Always great vibes. Menu in the comments. @GerilynnšŸŠāšœļøšŸ¦š #shrimpandgrits #oysters #finedining #seafood #louisiana
