Hopdoddy Burger Bar — Restaurant in Shreveport

7 of my friends & I had lunch at the East 70th Street location in Shreveport yesterday. First, the music is way too loud! We had to shout while sitting next to each other. We were told that the volume could Not Be Lowered, they have no control from their own restaurant! We were there to visit with each other over lunch, and can crank up the music in our cars if we wanted to, but not here because friends are more important than overwhelming noise. 3 of us had burgers, 2 had patty melts, and 3 had chicken tenders. 5 of us felt that our meals, & fries were over salted, beyond reasonably normal. We didn't waste our food, and later I told the manager that "Nobody needs this much salt in their food, especially those who are on sodium restricted diets, such as seniors". Although she was friendly, and courteous, I was disappointed to hear that they have to add this amount of salt to follow cooking guidelines. Customers can put additional salt on their food if needed, instead of being surprised. She offered to bring us complementary items to satisfy us. We just wanted to be listened to in order to improve a future experience. The Patty Melts looked very appetizing, which I'll plan to order another time. Add Onion Rings...

I haven't dined at this location in person. All my meals have been through food delivery apps so I can't speak to service in the restaurant. The burgers I've ordered have been great. Cooked and seasoned well. Like the variety of burgers they have. Ordered there Magic Shroom and Doddy Melt, both were delicious. Thought there Parmesan Truffle Fries were a bit expensive until I saw the large portion they give you. Only issue I had was ordering their Parmesan Truffle Brussels. Ordered through the Uber Eats app and the app wanted to charge me an extra $1.20 to the entrée list price to add parmesan to my order. It's in the name so I assumed it was included at no extra charge. I deselected the parmesan and added into the notes that I wanted the parmesan but didn't want to be charged an extra $1.20 for them. Received my order with no parmesan on it and the entire dish was burnt. They didn't serve whole brussel sprouts but instead separated every leaf until you basically had a salad but every leaf was charred and the entire dish tasted burnt. Ended up throwing it out. I have only put 2 stars because the establishment was clean and the staff was very friendly. I was truly disheartened after $70(including tip) for our meal and biting into a burger that still had paper on it. The staff was diligent in remaking it and refunded the burger. BUT! I cannot understand how you cooked this burger and didn't see an entire square of paper still on it. You then had to DRESS the burger. I just can't wrap my head around it. They were very nice and super apologetic. I liked Grub; and really wanted to like Hop Doddy as well, but I don't.

Next, the fries. We ordered a shareable bbq ranch fry. Please see the photo. It is literally an order of fries with bbq seasoning sprinkled with ranch on the side. Not a problem, just wasn't what we were expecting. The fries were very hard. So hard, that we were able to knock it on the table.

I ordered a rum punch, it was delicious. They have a happy hour so, it was only $5. We also ordered a boozy chocolate milkshake. He said it was great. Our son seemed to enjoy his grilled cheese.

The presentation was great. I also like their caffeinated bbq sauce.
