I was at the Shrewsbury Aldi Fri July 3, 2020 and I was disturbed by what I saw. They no longer had someone outside cleaning carts and in fact had reverted back to customers using their own quarters. As of Fri STL City & County required masks in public places, however, I saw numerous customers in the store without one, including a man with his small child . They had apparently decided social distancing was no longer necessary along with waiting for the cashier to clear the conveyor prior to you placing your groceries on it. The cashier actually slid the divider down to me so I could start placing my groceries on the it. I did not, I waited. I was at the Aldi on Gravois & Kingshighway the day before & they were still practicing all of the things I just mentioned above. This is completely unacceptable by anyone, much less a grocery store! Read moreIf i could rate lower i would do so. So i checked out at this location while my fiancé went to the restroom. She had 1 item to check out when she was through. I was waiting by the bathroom for my fiancé when i was approached by an employee (I believe is a manager.) asking for my receipt. I said may i ask why? She replied we have you on camera not ringing up 1 item. I said that 1 item is right here and my fiancé is in the restroom and will check it out when she is through. She said thanks for your cooperation and walked away. My fiancé finished and we checked out the last item. As we walked to the exit she than stepped in front of us blocking our path asked for the receipt a 2nd time. What kind of store treats good honest people like they’re criminals? Read moreIt is a European style store in US of A.. the concept is slightly different to the average US stores.. here you need to "pay" a quarter for your trolley. ..ensuring you return it to the corral.. (save employing people to collect trolleys) You also have to bring your own shopping bags... or purchase them.. encouraging recycling.. There are no packers. So you basically take things from the trolley after paying and pack it yourself. .. Very European.. Some items are European origin.. some items are cheaper than local.. But there is a fair amount of local produce.. Normally the Fruit and Vegetables are fresher here.. but I have come across some bad days too.. but generally it is a nice clean...
