I would not shop this store unless you appreciate no service after the sale. My mother and I shopped this location over Labor Day weekend and she ordered a sleeper sofa and chair. When the items arrived in about 9 weeks, the skirting on the sofa was not smooth and tailored as it should be. My mother phoned Sarah and was shrugged off and told to contact their customer service department. And she did. They sent a technician out to steam the skirt and it had no effect on the rippling of the fabric. The technician told her that it was just wrong. My mother asked to return the sofa only and even pay a restocking fee to get this defective sofa out of her home so she could find something else; they refused! The technicians photos were sent to La-Z-Boy corporate for evaluation and the response was that this was within their manufacturing standards but at least a month had gone by before we had heard anything. When I visited in February, I stopped in and was advised by Kris Ortega, customer service manager, to send her pictures and she would resubmit to La-Z- Boy. Well a little over a week later, I was notified that this was considered acceptable. I also learned that this is an independently owned operation for La-Z-Boy and that they don't make decisions on these matters and defer to La-Z-Boy corporate.
What really annoys me is that the sales person (Sarah), since delivery, won't even speak to either my mother or myself. I would expect a sales person to be the customer's advocate in a situation like this but apparently she cannot be bothered.
One last thing, we have offered to return it for credit, less any restocking fee, and purchase another sofa from them (naturally one with no skirt) and they won't respond. Not sure the actual owners are but they should be ashamed to run such a sleazy operation.

The recliner/lift chair is very uncomfortable and poorly constructed. I called the store and spoke with management who was very disrespectful. I convinced them to send me a service man to check my chair because I can’t believe that the chair doesn’t recline and left the legs correctly. The lift chair/recliner it’s poorly constructed and I’ve asked if I could get a different chair and they told me no that there is no way I could get another chair. I should’ve checked it better before I ordered it she said. I’m just out of luck worst customer service. After arguing with the manager for several minutes she kept Interrupting me saying over and over I should’ve checked it before I bought it . Like a child very unprofessional.The chair that I checked in the store was not this uncomfortable.I canceled within the timeframe after the delivery of the recliner/chair. Sounds like an illegal policy how can you know if the chairs right until you receive it this chair is the most uncomfortable poorly constructed chair that I’ve ever owned pathetic. I am making a formal Complaint with the state attorney generals office reference unfair business practice I canceled within the timeframe of receipt of my chair. Read moreI rarely write reviews, but the service and care at the Sarasota (S. Tamiami) store was so incredible and outstanding I had to leave one! Emperia greeted me immediately upon entering the store and was so helpful and knowledgeable in helping me find the exact recliner my elderly parents needed. We looked at clearance floor models as I needed it asap for them before I left town. Because my parents live within a 5 mile radius of the store, she arranged for an expedited delivery date but the closest one we could get was the day after I left town. She saw the concern on my face, so immediately asked her manager what could be done to get it earlier. Her sweet manager said she could deliver it herself within an hour if I could assist with bringing the chair in the house. I was blown away by her willingness to accommodate my needs in any way possible. Sure enough, within the hour, she drove up with her assistant Dillon. They basically did all the heavy lifting and were so sweet and patient with my elderly parents (since they weren't really sure what was happening!). She and Dillon set up the chair and gave my parents an easy to follow tutorial. My parents were so thrilled they didn't know what to say! I was so incredibly touched and appreciative for the outstanding service and friendliness- it convinced me there are angels on earth!
