The food was amazing and the service was great. My mom and I got a range: from vegetarian sushi to the chicken katsu bao buns. The stuffed jalapeños with cream cheese and spicy tuna was amazing, the sushi was fresh tasting and fantastic and both bao bun types were very well made. The ginger salad has the best ginger dressing in this area hands down. We were also given an appetizer to sample (something I think they are trying out) that was amazing, imitation krab and cream cheese fried in batter (no wonton). It was very creamy and addicting.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming. We asked about recommendations and chatted about what we really liked in each dish. The restaurant was clean and had an open plan with two rooms: one low top tables with booths/chairs room and one high top tables/bar room.
As far as price goes, the lunch items have pretty good deals: a bento box meal set, a hibachi/soup/salad meal set and a 2-3 sushi roll/salad/soup meal set. Getting food a la cart is typical sushi plate pricing (around $8-16 a plate). If you are looking for the best deal: the two bao buns appetizer is, I think, $8 (maybe $7.50) and they are very filling and each bao bun is about the size of a breakfast sandwich.
10/10 we plan to go back, but this time bringing the rest...
Read moreI feel like Red Plum is the most hip, stylish, delicious, friendly, and impeccable place to eat sushi. TJ, the owner is absolutely lovely and such a gentleman to be around. I can feel the amount of work, love, and concern that he puts into every single dish, and how much effort there is behind the entire restaurant.
The atmosphere is warm, compassionate, open and welcoming. The interior design is so beautifully thought out that even though I’m not big on always dining in, this is a place I plan on coming back to because of the vibes and feeling.
It feels like every single portion of the restaurant has been thawed out and is so chic. It feels like the kind of place where I would want to take a group of my friends, but also a place where I would like to take someone on a date.
The food itself is unlike anything that I have tried. I have been to other sushi places, and they all feel generic in comparison. I try not to compare, however, the caliber of the products that they use for their sushi is superb. The sushi that I had was so mouthwatering that I savored every bite. I cannot wait to try their other options.
Thank you TJ for opening the best sushi restaurant in town. You and your staff are so talented, professional, and brilliant at what...
Read moreHere for a few weeks and looking for good sushi in the area and saw limited but good reviews so far, but not so fast. For the price, the specialty rolls were smaller than we normally get elsewhere and not well rolled. They mostly started falling apart when dipped into the soy sauce. Normally four specialty rolls at $60 would be enough for two of us, but since these were on the smaller side, it didn’t quite do it. For $14.50, the Red Plum Naruto was kind of a waste as it was cut way thinner and was much smaller than the other specialty rolls, perhaps why the lady chuckled on the phone when we ordered it. 🤷♂️ For four rolls, only received two packs of soy sauce, no wasabi, no ginger and only one set of chop sticks. Maybe thought all that was for one person. Oh well, since they’re new, there’s plenty of time to make adjustments going forward but I think we’ll try one of the other more established sushi restaurants in the...
