My husband went in to do a return. The target website says in order to get your money back on a return all you need is a return bar code OR an original receipt OR the original payment card within 30 days of the original payment date. He had the return bar code, the Asian manager refused the return. He showed the original receipt, pulled from my target account, she refused that too. The return is only 2 and a half weeks old. She said she needs the original card and wonât accept anything else. Why is that if Target policy doesnât specifically state that? She was rude and disrespectful, treated him horribly.
I decide to show up to give them a piece of my mind. Thereâs a Hispanic manager that gets called to talk to me and yes at this point I am visibly agitated but NOT ONCE did I pass the line. She tells me that the policy stands and that they donât take returns even with the original receipt without the original payment method present and that she will only give me a store return because the purchase was past 14 days. I said the policy does not state that. At this point I have the original receipt, my ID (that they also requested) AND the original payment card. She doesnât care and starts to give me a store card and wonât give our money back. I accept the store card with the intentions of calling the customer service hotline. I ask for the name of the Asian manager, she tells me she DOESNâT KNOW who I am talking about and thatâs sheâs been the only manager there that whole night. She was acting extra âniceâ, gaslighting me and my husband and the horrible experience he just went through.
Customer service was called and they sided with us. They not only stayed on the phone with my husband while he drove back to the store for a 3rd time. The customer service rep made them return us our money to our debit card and told the second manager that she went against their own policy and that she passed the line with us. There was also something going on with our gift card, it was not processed correctly. What type of scam artist BS were they trying to pull off?? At this point this is a red flag for the rep. He told the manager that not only will she be reported but the original manager that my husband dealt with will be reported too (in that moment she ârememberedâ the other managers name instantly).
Thank you Target customer, we really appreciate the help.

Read moreI wanted to return an item, waited in line behind a lady, a little bit no one came to the desk. The associate could have already been in the process of helping her but it just didn't look like it. She also was looking around like a customer does when needing assistance. An employee stood at the exit door, I was not sure if he was on break or off work, maybe waiting for a ride or if he possibly work at the front desk? As I'm waiting, I look over and the Starbucks catches my eye. So I wander over conduct my business and come back. This time there are a few people in and out of the back area which also serves as the online order pickup area. There was a person receiving their order. Lady infront of me wanted to "see" her pickup order, maybe she could take it with her that evening. The associate either knew the woman on some level or something because they talked more casual than normal. The package was too large for the employee to unpack & bring out from the back so she took a picture on the handheld device to show the woman. It was too large for her to take that night & she would send him tomorrow. I'm next, so I greeted her with a smile & my receipt, it was answered with a short response back. I noticed an atmospheric change instantly. No pleasantries just basic minimum flat responses. My transaction literally took 2 minutes. As I was leaving the same customer behind me received ditto. 3 stars because I returned the item & I was able to obtain what I wanted from...
Read moreI typically love Target. I shop here all the time, and have never really had any issues before. Great environment, awesome products! But today I had a less than satisfactory experience. I made some purchases, the purchases were put in my cart and I left. I got home to unpack everything and noticed part of what I paid for was not there. I called guest services and explained what happened. They told me that I needed to bring my copy of my receipt in, show it to them, tell them what products I didn't get and I could get them. The thing is, I'm HOME! I had completed all my shopping and wasn't really anticipating WASTING gas and my precious time to go back out to pick up the things that were not given to me. I asked if I could snap a picture of my receipt and send to my husband so he could stop by and take care of that for me on his way home from work. The answer was "NO, you have to have the original receipt." Speaking of "original receipt"...any time in the past that I've had to make a return to Target, they have NO problem swiping my credit card that I used to make the purchase to pull up the receipt... wondering why this can't be done in this particular situation especially for a situation that THEY created. Needless to say, I'm extremely dissatisfied with the customer service and their unwillingness to work with me given the circumstance that...
