They get 2 stars for sheer convenience, but I miss Great Wall in Rockville, at least I could chalk up rude experiences there to language barriers (but at least their produce, meat, and fish were super fresh). I have lived in Silver Spring for 3 weeks and after I write this, I'm writing their corporate office because I refuse to keep "yelping" and still continue to have the same bad experiences there. My boyfriend and I were in line and not once did the cashier acknowledge us. Not a hi, didn't ask us for our bonus card information, didn't ask if we needed bags/ nor did she help bag groceries. Um...ma'm if I didn't want human interaction, self check out is available. Secondly, the bakery products are often stale. I bought poppy seed muffins and had to put water and butter on it at home to revive the taste. I started paying attention to the "packaged on" dates this week. Some baked goods had been packaged over a week beforehand. Keep in mind, the label says when the goods were packaged, not baked. Now onto produce, not terrible. There is a good selection (again..if you're in Rockville Korean Korner and Great Wall have WAY better produce), however sometimes they let several items spoil. Myself and another woman basically played rock, paper, scissors to fairly decide who would get the sole edible looking green bell pepper. And to end my rant, the deli/ ready made food section is terrible. I say this as I sit at my desk chocking down this less than fresh sushi I bought from Giant last night (it truly is gross). My boyfriend bought enchiladas last night and I spit it out when I tasted them. Now I'm no enchilada expert but I usually feel joy when I eat an enchilada....these enchilada's made me feel sad inside- Harry Potter, Dementor sad...way to ruin enchilada's people! Although I've added some of my humor to this review, these issues are seriously not funny. Bad food means bad practices. And when you're dealing with food, bad practices can do serious harm to people. Get it together Giant...you shall be hearing my soccer mom level...
Read moreToday 7/7/23 around 7:30am I walked inside Giant grocery store (East/West Hwy) to place an order for a cake at the bakery. So a couple of seconds later a black woman about 5'5 200lbs between the ages of 40-49 with long braids asked can I help you but with an attitude. So I said I would like to order a cake then I picked up the size of the cake I wanted. But before I could even put the cake back down she asked with attitude what time and day. So I said to her hold on let me put the cake down plus I was trying to think about the day and time. So she kept repeating what time what day with attitude so I said hold on but she wouldn't give me the time to think of a time and day at all. So she kept asking interrupting me that's when all of a sudden I said you have a bad attitude what's wrong. So we kept arguing back and forth you know about her attitude that's when she came from around the counter saying someone else take his order. Then she made a false accusation about me stealing two cakes I'm the one that keeps coming in there stealing cakes that's when I said well then call the police because I need some money because I will sue you and Giant for false accusations. That's when I asked for the manager and she replied go find him so a customer told me who the manager was and I told him about the situation. I will be taking my business somewhere else because I deserve better service than what I was given today. No one deserves to be treated like that when they are spending their hard earn money for a service. She deserves to be terminated and find...

The location is great and the people that work there are even nicer. Now everything else.
I just found a parasite in my blueberries I served in my toddler I also have been suffering from an on and off parasitic infection since I've been traveling to work in the city. And yes it's alive. The last time I got cauliflower. It's also littered with bugs inside of it. The fish always poorly cooled. The yogurt dairy free usually there's one that can never make it to the expiration date if not many without mold. This place is way too busy trying to be green. Which I actually blame on the Blair's... The place used to be cold the Blairs went green and the store temperature just went up and subsequently all of the cases. I don't buy beef there anymore all I buy is packaged ground chicken or frozen.
I'm gluten-free and most of my gluten-free products are grossly marked incorrectly for what rings up. How often are the things that I want or also out of stock.
Decent selection over all.... But anything perishable is in question.
This has been going on for 2 years.
I should also note. There's only one employee that cooks rotisserie chicken the rest of them are probably stealing it. Because it's never cooked when she is not there just bare after the morning or my favorite... Yesterday's chicken which was verbalized to me by an...
