Crisp & Juicy — Restaurant in Maryland

I Decided to buy my family dinner. They agreed on Crisp & Juicy , so I went to pUt in my order. I ordered the standard charity planner, whatever that means it used to be called the Super Bowl platter. You get two whole chickens, 4 sides and like 8 sauces. Now when placing my order I asked the guy who normally cooks to give me one whole platter of dark meat he said, “yes I got you”! When taking my order we kept going back-and-forth over the sides. I kept telling him mashed potatoes, primavera rice, plantains, and I wanted another Primavera rice. He kept telling me how they were only four sides and I kept telling him I’m ordering four. Somehow I end up ordering only three sides Primavera rice, plantain, and the mix vegetables. Now when my order came it was so hot it was already bagged up. But I still attempted to look and confirm that my order was correct. I looked at all the sides to make sure they were there. There was 1 large Container and too small ones. It was so hot and a bag started to rip so I just said well I’m sure they got my order correct. I should’ve went with my first instinct because when I got to my moms house I had 2 regular whole chicken platters. Now there’s a reason why I ordered all dark meat for one platter. It’s hard for my mom to digest the course white meat. Not to mention sometimes Crisp & Juicy is Juicy with the breast and sometimes it’s DRY. This time it was DRY! If I decide to come back the next time I will ask them to see my platter before they Bag it! This meal costs $50. And if you order it a certain way it should come that way. I find it deceiving for the guy with the black hair and the hat. Who cooks the chicken, to tell me that he was going to give me a whole platter of dark meat. When he did no such thing.! That’s deceiving! It’s almost like they wanna force you to get a regular whole chicken. If I paid $50 I should be getting a platter of dark meat like a asked. This is not the first time...

Horrible customer service!!! I stopped by Sunday night (1/15) and I received the worst customer service. I ordered the 1/4 chicken combo with a salad and beans and rice and noticed that I only received one salad dressing so I asked for another one. The guy at the front refused to give me one and so I asked him why and he said that I have to pay for it. After explaining that I wouldn’t mind paying for it, he still told me flat out no, which was very strange and extremely rude. No explanation whatsoever. I don’t usually go to this restaurant because I have experienced bad service in the past, but it was late and nothing else was open. I live right across the street at the Pearl so it is very convenient to just walk over. However, I just can’t understand why I was treated in such a poor manner. If I didn’t want to pay for the sauce, that would be one thing. But I offered to pay and he still said no and was extremely dismissive. I hate to think that it has anything to do with race, but I find it hard to believe that it doesn’t. Please save your hard earned money, especially if you’re Black. I am telling all of my family, friends, neighbors, and sorority sisters who live in the area and/or visit me not to ever go here.

Also, please note that the salad was thrown together and wasn’t sealed all the way, which is a health hazard considering it was in a plastic bag exposed. I took a few photos of the guy for anyone who needs to see who he is. I really hope he is held...

Crispy and Juicy has been opened since 1989! And my entire family and I have been eating there since 1995! It's one of the first places my uncle took my mom and my siblings when we moved to the U. S. And its still one of my favorite places to to eat 24 years later! The chicken is soft and succulent. Perfectly seasoned and the skin is so decadently roasted that I swear I have dreams about it! Ordering the family platter feeds a family of five and it comes with three sides. Its easy on your pocket! I love the rice and the beans.... the beans have something extra in the seasoning that just make my tastebuds sing! I also love the sweet plantains and the salad. The french Fries are super tasty too!. I know a lot of customers love the yuca frita! The service is friendly and quick! Personally I dont think you could go wrong with anything on the menu here. I could not recommend it higher ! And I mean this specific location. The one in Rockville is also...
